Re: payday loans exceed income - what to do?

Hate to be Debbie Downer, but my cousin did this very thing right after she graduated from school thinking that the job that she had was only temporary and that when she got the "better" job she would just pay all 3 payday loans off.  Well, that was in 2008 (just as the economy tanked) and she never got that "better" job.  She stopped paying on all 3 because she simply couldn't afford to.  She tried to negotiate with them and they would not work with her at all.  All three filed suit and all three got judgments and are still garnishing her wages to this day.

 

Unfortunately, your friend may have gotten herself into something that will haunt her for a very long time.
