I signed up for the TU Quarterly Monitoring product. When reviewing my report, it says I have a fraud flag on my report. I called TU to try to determine why the flag was on my report and if I could get it removed, but TU told me I don't have any fraud alerts on my account. Any ideas why the fraud flag is on my report I received from myfico but wouldn't be on there according to TU?
I may be mistaken, but I believe you cannot purchase your TU FICO report or sign up to TU Quarterly Monitoring if you have a fraud alert on TU. I'd hazard a guess and say that one isn't on your TU report if you successfully subscribed. Do you recall what it said?

On the Credit-At-A-Glance tab, under Personal Information:
Most likely, this is because you contacted TransUnion with a suspicion that your credit report was being used fraudulently. When a credit report has a fraud flag, lenders follow extra precautions when granting credit based on the information in that credit report."
Interesting. If you never put a FA on TU, you may want to check EQ and EX too as any FA should carry over from one report to another. If there is no FA anywhere as TU mentioned, then bump for Barry.
...or try calling customer service.

Ok, thanks. I'll check with the EQ and EX and update.
According to EQ and EX, I have no fraud alerts on my account. There is a statement on my report to verify my SSN and DOB so as not to confuse me with others. I believe this was added some time ago when my father's info was confused with mine because we share the same name. A myfico CSR thought that perhaps that statement was what was triggering the fraud flag notification. Does that sound accurate?

This sounds like a logical explanation to me. To be sure, you may want to obtain a free full TU credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com (if you haven't received your free one from TU within the past year) to see for yourself. Sounds like it might be a good idea to leave it on if you want to be sure your father's info doesn't get mixed with yours.
Thanks!
