Score watch updating?

good morning from the west coast! Quick question about scorewatch. It has the score up from the 10th, today is the 15th. In that time I have had payments post to bring down my utilization and my new card with the highest balance also had  a statement cut. however score watch only gave me the option to "Buy today's score"? does it not automatically update? and if so, how often have you guys seen it update itself? I thought that was the whole pointof me paying for the service...

Re: Score watch updating?

SW won't release a full report to you, however it will give you alerts based on the information you give it.  There are plenty of tips on how to best use it, i believe in a sticky even, however the basic idea is that SW will alert you of changes to your EQ report in several areas, including unexpected balance changes, new accounts, new inquiries, etc.  If your main reason it to track your score, the best practice is to change your alert for Scores.  Make your goal score equal to your current score, so that no matter the change, it alerts you.

Re: Score watch updating?

I'm confused after reading this sticky - http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/myFICO-Product-Feedback/Score-Watch-Guide/m-p/603543?jump=true

"Equifax reports are checked daily for Credit Alert changes to the credit report."

Isn't a balance decrease a "change to the credit report"?  Isn't the removal of an item a "change to the credit report"? Or is a change to a credit report defined as only new accounts, new inquiries?

2014 Starting-618, current TU636/EX653/EQ600 (WalmTU 8/13,Prosper, CLI decline ltr) / Ending Goal score: 720 - 25 pos TLs / Baddies: 1 unpd $312 med CA, 1/30 day auto late on 9/1/12 /reported Install Bal/Lim: 17885/28512 | reported Revolving Bal/Lim: 10055/21082=49%util.

If you scroll down from that quote it shows a dozen or so items that trigger credit alerts. Balance decreases aren't one of those and I don't know why, but it never was advertised that a balance decrease would trigger an alert. For dropped items, no CMS anywhere in the world will alert you to dropped accounts or dropped baddies. Not sure why. Mechanics?

Re: Score watch updating?

I did read down, which is where the confusion came from.  The more I read, the more in circles I feel like I'm going.  I have had 2 new accounts added and a change of address in the last 3 weeks and no alert.  I have the score settings set to match my current score, have my balance increase set to 5%, not sure what else to do to actually get an alert out of SW.
