My ScoreWatch reported a duplicate change in account activity for one credit card. Is this normal?
Basically, ScoreWatch said "recent activity has been detected on two of your accounts"... but it's just one account. My CS dropped 14 points because a $200 increase in credit limit usage appeared twice. Is there anything I can do about this?
Ah....it's a settings issue. FICO isn't counting the same account twice because only one is reporting. If you click into ScoreWatch and click the settings link, you'll find two options when you receive alerts:
Whenever one of your accounts has a balance increase larger than X%
-and-
Whenever one of your accounts has a balance increase larger than $X
If you have a CC that updates greater than X% -and- $X, then you'll get a double SW alert for the same account because both alert conditions were met. If you don't want to see that double alert in the future, just click on the "change" link and set one of the settings to "N" for no.
