US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature

So I'm interested in applying for this card, but I'm having a hard time getting my questions answered. I hate how you can't apply online.

I happen to have a US Bank branch nearby where I live, but I work full-time and so I won't have the chance to actually walk in to the branch and apply in-person. The lobby isn't open on Saturdays for some reason. I have called the bank twice over my lunch break and the person who does these things has always been onn the phone with someone else, so I haven't gotten a straight answer.

So for anyone who has the card or knows anything about it:

1. Can I apply over the phone with the local branch?

2. Do I have to have a checking account with US Bank in order to apply? The teller I talked to seemed to think I did since that was how the CB was deposited, but I just assumed it could be added as a statement credit to my bill, like SallieMae World and Amex Blue do it.

3. Does anyone know where they pull from?

4. Anything else useful that I should know about?

Getting to choose your 5% CB categories sounds great, especially when the revovling categories with Chase Freedom/Discover don't fully cover my spending habits. I know the card has been nerfed over the years, but it still seems like a great deal.

You should be able to apply over the phone. You do NOT need a deposit account from them.

As for who they pull, they pulled EX/ARS/IDA on me when I applied.

Thank you so much for that link. I called that toll free number and got signed up over the phone in 20 mins. Was insta-approved and told to expect my card within 7 days.

You can't apply for the Cash+ online any more. It's supposed to be in Bank apps only. But we proved that is wrong.

I was so excited when the CSR said i was approved that I forgot to ask. I just called the toll-free number and all it says is that I've been approved and to expect card in mail. Guess I'll just wait and see when I get it.

do you remember your score and debt percentage when you applied US BANK CASH+ over the phone ?
