Wells Fargo...I luv ya!!!!!

I was a little disappointed with my initial CL when I app'd for my WF Visa last weekend. I'd had an account with them since the first of the year when they talked me into switching an auto loan to them for a lower interest rate. For the past couple of months I've had an offer in my account to apply for one of their cards. I decided to go ahead and apply last weekend and was instantly approved for $2k. I was disappointed with the initial CL so I called their credit analyst dept. and received a "cookie cutter" response letting me know nothing could be done at the time and to give it a little time/use and call back in a few months. I've had 6 new accounts added in the past 2 months now that I'm prime. All prime cards. I knew the inquiries were going to effect me when I applied because they affected me when Discover stuck me with a $1k initial CL 2 weeks ago and was the primary reason for the low initial CL. Anyway, I'm done applying and going to be aging these accounts now. No more app's til 8/14. No matter what the sign up offer/bonus!!! Back to my point, after being rejected by the WF credit dept for an increase to my initial CL I sent an e-mail with my life story(literally) to the EO. Never received a response and in the meantime the card arrived 2 days ago. I logged onto my existing WF account a few minutes ago to activate the card and add it to the on-line access I already have set up for my auto loan...what...am I hallucinating...a mirage...double take...triple take...nope, it's confirmed...CL $5k!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited! I'm taking my wife and son on our first real vacation in two weeks and I'll be able to use this card for the whole trip and get to take advantage of the 3% cash back on all purchases for the 1st 6 months offer! Well thank you but I have to be honest, so many peolpe here welcomed me, put up with my questions, explained in detail when I didn't understand something and i'm just returning the knowledge that was granted me and returning the same....

And what a team it is!!! I've gone from total revolving CL's of under $4k as of 1/13 to current revolving CL's of $48.5k. All with the knowledge passed on by everyone here. For future readers, an important lesson, my utilization is less than 3%. Lesson to be learned...get credit, use credit wisely, get more credit...repeat.

I have a similiar offer online as well. I wonder now that you've increased your limit to $5K if they will allow you to convert it over to a Visa Signature instead?

Great minds think alike...funny, that was my first thought as well...after my initial celebration that is. Probably, won't push for the sig yet. Show some good use for awhile, then maybe ask. Besides, already have 2 Visa Sigs from Chase. In no hurry.

Thanks! We're going to. My son is 12 and we've never been further than 2 states from home. My wife get's panic'd seeing jets/planes on tv or in the air let alone actually stepping foot on one. I've been all thru the stats on flying vs car crashes etc. but no sale. I've resigned myself to the fact that she's never going to fly. Myself on the other hand...skydiving, bungee jumping, flying, gliding, parafoil...love it! Anyway, taking the whole family to Colorado for 9 days. Both wife and son will see the mountains for the 1st time. Can't wait for them to see the night sky without all the city lights to drowned them out. It's like seeing the stars for the 1st time!
