NASA FCU 20K credit card APPROVED. Instantly.

Ok , applied for NASA fcu platinum rewards card, approved online for 20k instantly, on friday.

Today i called in to see whats the process CS rep said yes its approved and I am going to transfer you to lending dept, so they can send you loan documents to you e mail address instead of mailing it, I said OK.

Here comes GiGi from lending dept, after asking me account info, she said yes i see its approved, ummm well ... someone has to review it. I said , I got e mail notofication of approval on friday, she cuts me off and says ( she got kinda angry ) sir, someone has to review it, you will get a e mail. anything else i can help you with??? i said no thats all. and hung up.

after 10 minutes i checked status online and wallah there it is GiGI's work, DECLINED.

They pulled Experian and score should be around 720 ish.

I'l see what the reason is going to be, like recently opened account or inquiries. other than that clean report and 3% utilization.

They require loan documents for a credit card? Was GiGi new and didn't know what she was doing?

Yes, very confusing. Unless they need further financial/supporting information to continue processing the application would be my guess, especially with that initial high CL. Keep us posted.

Are you sure it didnt say approved up to 20k?..Usually it will say "pending", waiting for loan officer review. Thats usually how Penfed ,NFCU does it. They will email you to fax in paystubs, utility bill and ID etc..usually they approve or deny you within 24 hrs after all documents have been submitted via email..Others may chime in...

Thats weird.. last year I was approved for a credit card with them and they asked for no docs... of course I was only approved for 2k

Yes, was approved, but GiGi was having bad monday, she declined it.

Loan documents which you have to sign and send it to them , like penfed does.

It was not up to 20K, it was 20K visa rewards card.

They didnt ask for paystubs or anything , they have my ID and proof of address from september 2012 when i opened membership.

I am not P!$$ed because i didnt get the card, I am upset they this GiGi treated me on phone and how she handled the application.

I am aware that thses lending dept ppl are just doing their jobs, either they approve you or decline you, BUT the thing is, she shouldnt just decline only because she wanted to or she was in bad mood or she didnt like her job or she didnt get vacation she wanted to or she didnt get raise this year or she has personal problems at home, or her own credit score is in 500's ,or the only card she has cap one builder or credit one bank, or attitude problem.

I have 53 total accounts and 15 of them are closed, have auto lease, have installment loans, and credit cards, never missed a payment and .

If i was declined instantly it would have been fine. OR some nice person who talked to me nicely with little explaination why she is going to overturn the approval and decline me would have been fine also,

I wonder how many GiGi's are out there , declining ppl with good scores and history.

Wow! Have you tried calling back. Just call and say, "there must be some misunderstanding. I was already approved." It can't hurt...

Lol...I screenshot all my approvals too...well I feel your pain...I was turned down for a Penfed cc earlier in June for new accounts.. Mid 700s all across the board and reason was pyramiding debts....There are a lot of Gigi's in the world..life happens..see if you can find another analyst...Doesn't hurt...Good luck

OK so today was 50/50 progress. , actually should be 100%, Thanks to GiGi.

PenFed CLI approved 5k to 10K. took a hard on equifax.

no income verification. Just faxed the ID which they already have on file.
I know it's hard to believe and confusing to think why would GiGi decline it. It's just my bad luck that she took my call .
