Hello all,

I've been lurking these forums for about 2 months, and figured right now would be the best time to register and post.

I am a full-time college student (Senior, in particular) and have never had a credit card before. I have had two jobs in the past, but essentially no real credit history. I decided to apply for a DiscoverIT Student card back in June and was rejected. The reasoning that Discover gave was "Insufficient Credit History" -- this left me bummed.

I decided to call Discover's Backdoor line a few times (thanks myFico!) and that had no significant progress (rep's stated I could not be reconsidered).

Today, after some more lurking around, I decided -- ah, what the heck, I'll give Capital One's Journey Student a try. I've read it's one of the easiest to gets, but then again, I heard Discover was on par as well.

After filling the application, I waited, palms sweaty, for the page to process. And then BAM! It said I was approved! I can't explain the happiness that ran through me, especially since I've talked to many different advisors that stated getting a secured card or a co-signer would be my only options.

The best part? I got a $2,000 credit line.

I'm still in awe as to how I could get denied by Discover for insufficient history, yet get approved with a $2,000 CL.

Anywho - I just wanted to say thank you to all the myFico members. You guys have been a great help to me, and I hope I can positively contribute in the near future.
