Chase Sapphire Preferred Instant Approval

Hi All,

First post here. I've been eyeing travel/rewards cards for some time now. After much consideration, finally pulled the trigger on CSP application today and was instant approved, 12k CL.

Here's some background info - I'm 25 years old. CreditKarma score 701 (haven't yet checked my scores here on myFICO). Gross Income - $75,000. Length of longest credit card - 23 months. I only have a Wells Fargo Visa with 4k CL, and a Chase Auto Loan, nothing else. About 11 months ago I was denied from Chase Freedom with reason being credit history too short.

Have to say I'm a bit shocked I was instant approved for Sapphire Preferred given my profile. But hey, certainly not complaining about it Happy to be here and looking learn more from the forums.

Congratulations, I would go for the 2 cards with possibly 1 hit deal if I was you. We are similar age and income. My oldest account is 10 years though but I have never had a car loan.

Congrats on your approval. Did you go thru the prequal site first?

Like some else mention I would go for the 2 for 1 Hp that doesn't mean you only get 1 HP for both apps but if you don't plan on applying for anything any time soon then I would if I were you wo maximize your UR potential. Also if you got approved for the CSP I think there is a strong possiblity you would get approved for the Freedom.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Interesting - would be nice to have a Freedom to maximize UR, but I've read on here people having problems when applying for both the Sapphire Preferred and the Freedom within 30 days of eachother. Does anyone have info to the contrary? Thanks.

I got approved for the CSP and Marriott card within a week of each other and Chase only pulled my EX once, but of course it's YMMV.

I recently applied for the CSP and freedom within 1 week of each other and was instantly approved for both, though they pulled EX twice for me.
