Wow, thank you. I hadnt even thought about getting a credit limit increase yet. The young man gave me his name and extension number as well which I doubt I will ever use but I will keep it just in case. It seems he might have mentioned something about an increase in 6 months but I'm not positive. I was too excited and at work. I had to try to remaim calm, lol. I didnt want to ask many questions with co workers within ear shot.

I've been closing out all my rebuilders. First Premier closet, then Credit One and finally Capital One. I had two accounts with Capital One. My oldest rebuilder which was secured for 1000.00 and a previous Orchard Bank turned Capital One card with a limit that was forever stuck at 500.00. I frequently hit the love button but NEVER was shown any love. Since I had no need for any card that cost me an AF and didnt pay me any rewards/cash back, I emailed Capital One EO a very nice letter thanking them for the opportunity they had given me. I told them honestly how much I appreciated them giving me a chance when no one else would. I also said that I hoped to someday be able to do business with them again. I mentioned that I visited their prequalify site monthly but was never prequalified. I explained that I did hope to someday qualify for a Quicksilver rewards card with them. I told them I have my mortgage with Chase, I have Amex BCE 9000.00 Barclay Mastercard 6,500.00 Walmart Discover 4,500, Discover IT 6,800.00 Citi THP 6,500.00 and finally Dillards that I just got with the shopping cart trick 1,500.00. I explained I love getting rewards/cash back and I while I do pay in full every month all of my cards a 500.00 limit just didnt work for me any more. Last week I got a call from the EO and spoke with a very nice young man who said he woudl be glad to close out my secured card and he would see if he could upgrade me to the Quicksilver. I was shocked and thanked him but told him unless I could have a useful limit it really wouldnt do much good so just go ahead and close both accounts. He asked my permission to look into it further which I gave as long as it was only a soft pull and he assurred me it would be. I had more or less forgotten about it when today he called me and told me my new Quicksilver card should arrive in 7 to 10 business day if I would accept a credit limit of 5,500.00. I was floored. Needless to say I gladly accepted. Yay. No more credit cards for me for a long, long time. I have all I need to get rewards for things I already have to buy/pay for and thats all I wanted. Anything my other cards wont give me rewards or cash back for, Quicksilver will at least give me 1.5%. I'm still shocked but very happy. I never dreamed Capital One would upgrade me or give me such a decent limit and do it all with a soft pull.

Thanks. I'm really, really surprised. I have tried countless times to get an increase using their love button online and had totally given up. The only reason I hadnt closed capital one before was because I could at least get my Equifax Fico score when they denied me a credit limit increase but three weeks ago when I last tried, I didnt even get that.

My email to them was sincere though. I really do appreciate the fact they gave me a chance when no one else would even if it was secured with my money. The way I saw it, they inherited me with the other card that had been Orchard and I probably woudlnt ever get a good card or limit with them. I didnt blame them at all. It wasnt their fault my credit ended up trashed. Even though I have rebuilt it now and have scores from 745 -769, they saw it when it was in the 500's. They knew it had been very bad. They opened the door for me to get the First Premier, Credit One and Orchard cards which all lead the way to getting my home and the prime cards I now have. Its long process but its finally paid off, even with the conservative Captial One.
