Approved for Chase Saph Prefered

Not much of a post but thanks to this forum I've been able to farm my credit enough to finally get the CSP card I've been eyeing for a while. Went through a rough patch in life and was scared to look at my credit. Once I did this forum helped me build it up.

1.3 years ago - $1000 Secured BoA card was the start (canceled after the CSP approval)

9 months ago - $300 Cap One unsecured -> 3 months later was raised to $1800

4 months ago - $7000 USAA Amex rewards (676EX)

Today - $5000 - Chase Sapphire Prefered (FICO 704)

- Got the pending further review screen last night. Called recon this morning and they had already approved it. I wanted/needed a card that has much better rewards than the USAA Amex. Too bad my score didn't get up till after I just got back from a week trip.

To note, as people have said before their custom service is great. The woman that said my card was approved had no problem transfering me so that I could request to have it expidited. Said I was looking to book some travel real soon and would like to have it as soon as possible (I acutally am, have a wedding I want to attend). Should be here tomorrow!

Still pretty happy about it. Was the card I was aiming for, and I have the sit back and relax feeling. Watch those scores climb as I save for a house.

Congrats! I still remember when I received my CSP on my second try two years ago - the half metal card gets you many comments from people who handle it. Now the CSP comes with an EMV so it's definitely a cool looking card. Enjoy

May I ask you if your secured card got unsecured? That's why you canceled it? I have a secured card cash rewards for 4 months now, also with $1000, so I want to know what I can expect in terms of graduation and CL increases.

Never got it unsecured. After the year, BoA pulled my EQ report and it was actually reporting a delequint account from 6yrs9mo ago. I have since disputed that and it off, but never went back to BoA since it requires a Hard Pull. Card wasn't worth having even after I unsecured it.

As for yours, most secured cards need a years worth of history. I would check what their policies are though. Never saw a CLI but didn't request one either, it was the first card I had to get back in the "game" and wanted to be sure I'd be ok and not over extend myself. After a few months with that card, intro unsecured offers started coming in.
