Yay! Capital One Journey Card approval! Low CL but oh well! :)

Alright! I am VERY excited to share that I have been approved for my FIRST unsecured credit card in 7 years!

Limit is only $300 *WHOMP WHOMP* BUT I am still completely STOKED!!!!

What my credit has looked like:

$500 charged off (& paid off in full) Capital One CC from 2007...first DQ in 2008

$500 charged off (& paid off in full) First Financial CC from 2007...first DQ in 2008

$750 Secured Capital One CC in good standing (initially $200 CL when opened in 07/2013 then I put $50 more a month later then got a CLI of $100 in 12/2013 & CLI of $400 about a month ago)
$450 Secured Credit One Bank CC in good standing (initially $300 CL when opened in 07/2013 then $150 CLI same week as CapOne CC CLI -opened them the same NIGHT)
$3,500 Conn's line in good standing (received pre-approval for $2K in the mail - when I actually did app they approved for more)
$1,100 Fingerhut account in good standing (opened at $600 CL in 04/2014 then CLI in 06/2014)

I've been denied Walmart CC (around 04/2014), Care Credit (07/2014), Capital One Quicksilver One (08/2013 - shouldn't have even tried that soon...I still don't know what I was THINKING!) & possibly a Bank of America Cash Rewards VISA I just applied to right before I applied for the Journey card! So, hopefully that helps somebody feel better if they've been rebuilding too!

Any tips about my new card are greatly appreciated by the way! AND if you have any tips about a possible Bank of America reconsideration, please let me know about that too. I already tried calling but they said they have no record JUST yet & to try calling back

I also tried appyling for Discover Student but got referred to the secured. It offers rewards so I put $200 for it. The rep said if I continue with my credit like I am right now that it will graduate and I'll have a CLI in 12 calendar months. Sounds fine to me!

Congrats on new card,, I have no experience with BOA, but I am sure if you search the forums you'll find a lot on that stuff....and my opinion,, would be to garden awhile and let your account age some instead of just applying everywhere..but I am sure some of the experts will weigh in on this too...

Congrats! That was my first regular credit card after bankruptcy!

It's been three years and it has a $3500 limit right now. I want to say I started at $500 with it, but, I'm not sure.

Capital One seems a lot better with growing their cards recently. My husbands old card that has had a $300 limit for nearly a decade just went up to $2000 out of the blue.. lol
