AMEX and I are, "back-dating" again-after 15 years!

Approved for BCP-$11,500, with a 23 year-"backdate"! Last week, I apped AMEX for the heck of it to see where I stood after checking pre-screened offers-of which there were three-and two weeks after I paid a $411 collection. Apped BCP via chat-was approved. Asked about credit line and member since date. Rep said to check with CS when I received the card, but, was real helpful and welcoming nonetheless. Checked the automated line a few days ago, gave my CL of $11,500. Received card today-in less than four business days! Went to chat as soon as I received card, and asked to have member since date changed to 1991. The CS rep was super cheerful, welcoming and helpful. I was in the system as MS 1991! The new card with new MSD is slated to arrive in 9-12 days! I await the potential score bump after it reports....will report back!

Abridged version of AMEX travails; old-timers may be aware of my relationship with AMEX, but, will provide background for those that want to see where there scenario fits with AMEX: I went into collections with AMEX-$411, sometime late nineties. Periodically received requests for payment well past SOL, particularly as I was improving credit-around the high 600's-700 range- but, stopped receiving requests about 4-5 years ago. Seemed like once scores reach 700's, requests stopped. Nonetheless, I contacted AMEX a few times, did not pull the trigger. Collection dept. wasn't very nice. Until, about three weeks ago. I decided to stop analyzing scenarios and just make good on the debt. BTW, I love when strategy works. I stayed in the garden till August, knowing that my last baddies would fall off before apping again. Obviously, AMEX an Experian HP Next app-this week- is a TU pull for credit union Visa...Oh, and AMEX customer service really is superior..

Thanks everyone! It's been a long, hard road. Perhaps the new card will arrive sooner, Amex seems pretty good with CS.

I got back in with Amex after 15 yrs as well earlier in the year. My score jumped 74 pts as soon as the backdating hit

Hi, I used to have Opima and Corporate card from AMEX in 94 both card went to collections. I am in still in garding process my score was 545 when I start it this forum now i am upto 705 all three.

I would like to get back with AMEX with the back dates, what shoud I do? Please help!

No collection on my CR (removed 32 collections with the help of this forum in 6 months)

So am I... when I called they expedited mine saying "because you called, you took the extra effort, so we're rush shipping it". lol
