I have had the PayPal SC since 2006. Originally started off with a $600 CL, but they CLD it to $480 when a judgement hit in 2007.

Since then, I always had 80+% utilization, and never even tried for a CLI.

Back in June/July I started paying the balance down and tried for a CLI in Setember with a balance of $25, Was denied and when I got the denial letter I realized they had used a SP from 8/3, which did not reflect the decrease in the UTI (and as a side effect the Fico score was lower).

Waited until they SP'd last week and went for a CLI once again..

I was denied the $1500 limit I asked for, BUT was countered with an increase to $1000!!

I figure once I clean up my CR some more and wait another 3 months, I should be able to at least 2x it again.

Sadly for some reason, I always thought the higher the balance I carried, as long as I made all my payments on time, they would eventually auto CLI my account.

I never realized until I got on this forum this summer how a high UTI can kill your credit score............

OP: Good job. At least it's in an upward dirction. I just got a 4x CLI to $2k via SP last week on my Smart Connect and plan to try again in 3 more mos also-maybe double next time.

UPDATE: With SP CLI's my PPSC account has now gone from $480(9/13) ==> $1000 (12/13) ==> $1500 (4/14) ==> $4000 (8/14)

With my report 100% clean, I'll probably leave it at $4000 for a while as I rarely use it anymore (mainly for either Priceline or Howtire horel stays).

where do you ask for a cli at? does it have to be over the phone or does a button show up after a certain amount of time?

I just call the phone # on the statement and at voice prompt ask for a credit line increase. A lot here call the "Credit Solutions" line found in the Backdoor Number thread.

There is not an online "luv button" available for paypal credit accounts (although it used to have one a long while ago).

The SP CLI's are available every 4 months.
