First spree in 5 years

Hey everyone, been a lurker for quite some time now. Finally signed up and really started pouring the fuel on fixing my blemishes from my younger days. Somehow I'm glad i screwed up earlier in life and learned how useful good credit is! Started out about 2 1/2 years ago with a 540 FICO and a secured cap one... $351 CL. A few months later got an app for an orchard bank card $300 CL too .... then got a $1000 Merrick bank card. well about 18 months ago cap one bought my orchard bank and gave me a $1500 CLI upon request via love button. last saturday night i decided to put in a few apps..... Barclay rewards mastercard.... Walmart..... Cabela's.....The Barclay approved me for $1300 Walmart gave me $1100 and Cabela's gave me 3k! i was stoked for that one. since I was on a role and have been throwing around the idea of getting my wife a new car I app'd for a cap one auto loan... APPROVED! 30K ..... I'm overly excited due to the fact 2 years ago i couldn't get a loan if the lender was drowning and i had a the rope to pull him/her out.

Thanks Everyone, The Cap one autoloan i got is @ 9% ..... just out of curiousity how long should one garden before attempting to refi..... also at what point would i be able to try for Credit limit increases? not for utilization just for the higher limit... i pay in full each month and hold zero balances???

You should check out DCU credit union I just joined with similar scores and they gave me 1.99% auto loan. They are very easy to work with. You can search about DCU on the auto loan section. Congrats on your new credit. I was in the same boat as you a year ago.

Firstly, congrats on your progress! Secondly, from what I know, 12 months is usually the time frame to pay on an auto loan and then apply for a refinance. Of course, your FICO scores should come up, but auto loans (well, dealers anyway) use your BEACON score. Either way, the payments on the auto loans matter more; so, make those payments for 12 months and then look at refinancing for a lower rate.
