CapOne Approval!!

I've had my CapOne Secured for 10 months with no issues, and usually PIF, with only 9-30% utilization most months. About 3 months ago I got a BoA secured as well, and have done the same.

I got home from vacation a few weeks ago to find a CapOne Platinum MasterCard "Pre-Qualification" in the mail. I was hesitant, because the BoA made me take a pretty big score hit due to the change in AAoA, but I figured I might as well try. Was approved instantly for a $300 limit, $0 annual fee, and CLI after 5 months.

I'm pretty excited to have my first unsecured card in 6 years.

Thanks everybody. I'm debating whether or not I should try my luck with another app or two, or just stick with what I've got for now.

Well I also applied for the Quicksilver One after seeing a pre-qual, but was declined.

I tried the 800-625-7866 Analyst number, to no avail.

Well the initial recon was via phone, and I'm pretty sure it was just the outsourced customer service.

So I actually sent a really in-depth email to the EO just now, and I'll update here when I hear back.

Well I just spoke to someone in the EO over the phone, where they were really friendly, and told me they were going to get it to underwriting for a re-evaluation, and I should hear back in a few days.

Either way, today's been a good day, because I ordered a case of Surge.

I didn't get to post on time but was going to tell you not to get greedy. I was in the same exact situation as you and I was approved last week for a Quick silver after having their secured card for about 11 months. Don't app for anything. Use the current cards and pay them off for the next 6 months or so and if done correctly I promise you will get the Quicksilver (which seems to be one of their best cards but require excellent credit)

I actually recieved a pre-approved letter from them which is the only reason I even tried and was shocked when I was approved (which mot people here said I should be) since I haven't apped in over a year. Before I called them some were saying I should have tried the QS1 but I went ahead and tried the QS and was approved for 1k... I'll have that limit doubled or tripled within 6 months. The time flies.. just keep using and making payments. You don't want a higher limit just to spend and then find out you can't pay it and end up back at square one. Just trying to be honest with you as I was in the same boat. Now you've took a hard inquiry to your credit which will hurt it even more.

Congratulations on your approval! Thanks for sharing. Great job! With continuous usage/payments you will definitely see this card grow!! Again, great job on the rebuilding and I'm sure you'll continue to do well.

Well the EO is still working on it, but I got the original app decline in the mail, claiming it had been declined based on too many Capital One accounts. I have the Secured Platinum, and the Unsecured Platinum. I'm thinking of calling the EO and talking about it, and maybe offerring to close my secured, although it's my oldest, I'd be left with 2 unsecureds, and a BoA secured that will graduate. And then I would ride those out until my AAoA gets back up.
