Macys, Amazon, Nordstroms, Amex, eBay, Chevron, Apple, Lowe's and Walmart

Currently have 3 cards:

-- Capital One Secured, $1500 Limit, 2.5 yrs old, 30% Utilization

-- Capital One (former Orchard), $1500 Limit, 2 years old, 0% Utilization

-- BarclayCard, $1000 Limit, 5 Months old, 0% Utilization

3 Old Medical Collections (6 yrs old)

Verizon Wireless Collection (6 yrs old)

State Tax Lien for $5k, Released 2012

State Tax Lien for $14k, Placed 4/2014 (yes, showing OPEN)

Paid Auto Loan with Ford about 8 years.

No Open Autos or Mortgages.

Applied for the following:

-- Apple w/ BarclayCard: Immediately approved online for $2k. Attempted recon for higher limit but was told that my history with Barclay is just too new.

-- Walmart: Immediately approved online for $500. Attempted recon for higher limit, unsuccessfully.

-- Lowes: Immediately approved online for $300. Attempted recon for higher limit for home repairs, unsuccessfully.

-- American Express Delta: Declined online, recon'd with analyst. Should hear back within a week.

-- eBay MasterCard: Immediately approved online for $300.

-- Chevron Card: Was asked that they needed further review. Too late for me to call tonight.

-- Macys: Declined. Recon'd but was told had charge-off from 2005 that needed to be paid. Internal systems won't allow another credit card.

-- Amazon with Chase: Declined. Recon'd unsuccessfully. Was told Tax Lien was biggest hurdle for them.

-- Nordstroms: Declined.

I think I am done. I haven't done that in many years but I need to establish myself with a few cards. The sooner I establish these, the better it'll be for me down the road 5-10 years. I tried to run TU heavy lenders as that is my highest score.

Congrats on your approvals ........... i have been Declined 3 times already for the Barclaycard, i even called for Recon and NO luck, i will try again with them next year

Thanks. You have an impressive rebuild line yourself. Looks like you did exactly what I am looking to do. I am done apping. I have held off for over 2 years. It wasn't the results I wanted, but it did feel nice to get approved for 50% of the cards applied for.

Regarding Barclays, they really want you to have no charge-offs or people you owe money to. They are pretty strict in that regard. I was unable to get that card when I had charged-off credit cards from 2006-2007. I heard they are good with the credit line increases. I'm certainly not with them for the interest rates.

As for AMEX, recon is usually only successful if there are errors on your reports. I'd try them again once you get the baddies cleared. As for Chevron, you may have hit the limit on what SyncB is willing to extend to you for now (usually when you start getting approvals with them in the $300 and lower range, it's best to stop). But you have some great new TLs to garden!

Thanks , i never had any Bankruptcys, Delinquencies or anthing bad and i always Pay on time but Barclays keep saying that my Credit History is too limited and that i have too many Hard Inquiries and that they can NOT approve me at this time, i tried and tried but NO luck, Maybe next year they will love me
