So I have to give this board some credit. I have been rebuilding my credit slowly for about 2 years now. I have a few secured cards that helped me along the way. Now NFCU finally approved my membership. So I did as everyone suggested, and I put the application in for a Visa Signature Awards... Hoping to get maybe a $5000 credit line. With all the hype of huge limits being thrown out there, I hoped for $5000, and would have loved to have seen $10,000 at this point in my journey....But this is what I got...

Congratulations! Based on your creditworthiness, you have been approved for a Signature Flagship Visa. Your credit line will be $25,000.00. Your APR will be prime plus 14.24. You should receive your new card(s) in 7-10 business days.

Thanks folks, with all the information on here I have done very well with a recent app spree, but this just took the cake!

Congrats. You should be very proud of yourself! It took me four months to get my NFCU to 25k. NFCU is top of the pack.

Would you mind sharing your stats? Credit scores, number of inquiries, highest credit limits on existing accounts, income, etc so we can all learn for you. Hat info helps many others.

My dad was in the Army for 4 years, so he's not a retiree. Is he still considered a veteran? Can we join NFCU?

A veteran is simply one who served.Length of service isn't a consideration. But yes, check their site for membership requirements.

After live chat with a NFCU rep I was told that veterans aren't "usually eligible" to join if they did not retire ;(
