In a general sense, yes. But there are various factors that lead to larger limit.

CapitalOne would want you to use a lot of your limit every month. They have declined me twice for not using my card enough

What i started doing recently is paying almost everything 5 days before the statement cuts but i leave out like $10 to $15 only to be reported, before i joined this Forum i used to pay the statement balance in full the same day the statement cuts and wondered why all of the debt it was still reported when i just paid the statement balance in full but now i know better

Yeah it all depends. Spent a lot on Discover and still nothing. Took me over a year to get a CLI with Citi but thankfully they gave me something really decent. Amex loves lots of spending and lots of payments and low utilization. The list goes on and on. It all varies and depends.

There is no real way to predict credit limit increases. In theory, the more you use your credit the more they will be apt to increase your credit. But it is far from an A = B formula.

My suggestion would be to just live your life, spend how you want to spend, and let the chips fall where they may. Do not "artificially" spend in the hopes that a few months from now, you will get an increase.

So then they really don't go off your salary only usage??

I want to plan a trip for later next year, but I want to put everything on my rewards card to take advantage of the benefits. But i'm only at $1,000 for two cards, $500, and $300.
