ł received a letter stating the Sam's club Discover is being phased out in favor of a Sam's club MasterCard no later than September 1st 2014…

The rewards are changing.

It'll be a 5-3-1 card!!!

5% back on Gas (not just Sam's gas, capped at 6k per "period")

3% Back on Restaurants and Travel

1% Back on everything else

Max of 5k cashback can be earned per period…

This is awesome!

ł can finally put that 10k limit to use, the previous reward structure was terrible in my opinion.

This new structure is rather competitive, it could be better but it's certainly a HUGE improvement.

Seriously wow .... This is so making me want to get a Sam's Club card now and i Just got Costco lmao... I hope they do something like this with the Walmart cause this'd be so unfair...

Well, HELLO, great rewards! It went from being the crappiest of cards to a GREAT card. Wonder what the rewards for using the Sam's card (non-discover) will be, or if there will be one. Might finally actually have incentive to upgrade to the Discover version after all. (Or now Mastercard.)

Me too.

The Delta Sonic car wash usually has the cheapest gas and ł get a discount with my "wash pass", adding the 5% C.B. year round makes the gas prices a little easier to deal with…

That's just short of 20 cents off a gallon and we all know that adds up quick.

This card may have just moved it's way from an inside pocket to a front and center position in my wallet, just have to wait and see what it looks like before it moves though.

Hopefully Walmart does the same! Awesome, I'm a Sams Club member but use my Walmart card there. If Walmart doesn't change to this I'll be getting the new Sams MC

I am a current Sam's Club Discover cardholder (10 months) and I have to say, I am ecstatic of this change...they are giving us more incentives. Only drawback is they've eliminated the Balance Transfer option altogether. Changing the card to a "5-3-1" card gives me more reason to hold onto it!

+1 about the WM Discover... I was psyched about the card until I realized how pathetic the rewards were.

Now I'm waiting for word on what they will do with the WM Discover when it shifts to a Mastercard. Only time will tell.

My understanding is that it will be a new TL on ur report. (similar to being upgraded from wally to wally discover).
