Got Approved for AMEX Gold and BCE (Updated)

Hi everyone, I hope you guys are doing well,

I asked about my chance of getting an AMEX card several days ago here. The majority said that I should wait more before pulling my trigger.

However, because Heat come back before the half time, I feel like today is a good day to apply lol.

So at the NBA final half time, I pulled my trigger for AMEX Gold charge card as I have a pre-screened offer of 25,000 points after $1,000 spending for Gold. So I choose Gold rather than lovely PRG. Surprisingly, I got instant approval!

Then, I have heard that if I appy for two AMEX card in one day, it might be only 1 hard pull. So I went ahead and apply for BCE, which I the card that I really want in the first place. Again, surprisingly, it is an instant approval with 2,000 CL.

My profile:

AAoA 6 months, Oldest account 9 months

existing CL: CU $1500, Chase Freedom $1500, Discover IT $1500, CapOne Platinum for Newcomer $1500

Inquiries:

TU -> 8 in the last 12 months, 3 in the last 6 months, 2 in the last 3 months.

EX -> 3 in the last 12 months, 1 in the last 6 months, 1 in the last 3 months.

EQ -> 4 in the last 12 months, 2 in the last 6 months, 1 in the last 3 months.

Credit Score: CK 721, CreditSesame 718, Credit.com 723.

7% util on one card. 0% for the rest.

Annual Income 20K, Asset 25K

My question: Is it true that I will get only one hard inquiry?

Just got my two cards today. So far, only 1 inquiry appear in both EX and TU. Finger Crossed

You'll find out. I'll bet they triple pull your credit reports since you seem like borderline approval. Congrats though!

Actually I wouldn't mind if they triple pull me. I am just wondering if it will be 1x3 or 2x3. However, I am super happy anyway lol

Earlier today, Creditkarma alerted me that there is one inquiry posted on my credit report. No idea about EQ or EX at this moment.

I think the reason I got approve is because I have quite a nice banking relationship with Chase (saving+checking > 10K and my employment paycheck is directed deposit through Chase).

I applied online and got decision pending message. Called in, answer several identity verifying question and got approved.

CreditSesame reported one hard inquiry on my EX today. So I guess AMEX did triple pull me. However, to date, it is only 1 triple pull. I will report back if the second pull shows up.

Because the main reason I want it is 3x CLI to get me pass $5k CL. I have no intention to use its benefit to the level that it worth getting BCP.
