Approved for CSP! (UPDATED)

I've been dreaming about a CSP so I applied this afternoon. I was THRILLED to be instantly approved for $25.1K (seriously?!?!) Anyway, it said if you are not happy with this limit please contact us (or something to that effect). So I emailed customer service to see if I could have it increase to a nice square number of $30K. I explained I wanted $30K so that when I spend $3,000 on it on the next few weeks to receive the points bonus I won't go over 10% of my limit.

Has anyone else tried to increase their CSP credit limit as soon as they were approved? I'm still 110% happy with my credit limit even if they do not approve it go any higher, but I had to try - right?

UPDATE: They had to pull my credit report again since apparently my 4 hour old report wasn't good enough but I was approved for the CLI to 30K!!!

Congrats! I'm rather curious to see what Chase does with that request if for no other reason I may try to pull the same trick if it's successful sometime in the future .

How many banks that you did business with did Chase acquire to wind up with 3 Freedoms in your sig line?

I had one old Chase "Platinum" opening 8 or so years ago that they just converted to a Freedom last month. I had an old Washington Mutual card that was converted to Chase a number of years ago and was also just converted to a Freedom last month. Those are the two with piddly limits - they will not budge on CLs. The third one with with ~7K limit was opened as a Freedom.

If the small limit freedoms are your older accounts, why not move your $7K credit limit to one of those closing the newest account, and pc'ing the other to a slate or united or some other card you might benefit from having.

I don't think you can as a result of Chase's policies. Chase is the land of 1000 Freedoms, and the vast majority are stuck with whatever product caps Chase put on them eons ago; as the OP noted, Chase won't budge on these, something former Wamu customers have complained about here on a somewhat regular basis even.

They're basically farming tradelines for the OP as a result.

Exactly - I use them for a small purchase once every few months just to keep them open.

Ha! I actually just bought a new Ford Expedition this week so I will be spending A LOT on gas...

Well in order to process my credit limit increase request they have to pull my credit report again. I asked if they really need to pull it again since they just pulled it 4 hours ago and they confirmed that, yes, they do need to pull it again. I approved them to pull it again hoping that it will only show up as 1 inquiry on my CRs.
