Took a few chances

Hello everyone, it's been awile since I've posted about approvals, well I've been busy this week lurking aorund getting ideas. To all my GC friends, you may have noticed I have been absent these last few weeks! Sorry!

Profile before this week:

State Farm Student Visa=$500.00

Chase Freedom=$4,000.00

Walmart=$1,500.00

Buckle=$500.00

American Express ED=$3,000

American Express PRG=$NPSL

Discover IT=$1,500.00

Energy One CU Visa=$5,000.00

Total CL=$16000

So I began by asking for a CLI on Buckle (LUV button) Approved ----> $250.00 increase, new limit of $750.00. I tried it a second time and then got the "review" message which is always denial. I'm really considering closing the account, I only got it to help build history when I had limited experience. I then hit the Walmart LUV button, Approved ---->$1,400 increase, new limit of $2,900.00. Tried this one a second time as well and got nothing.

I also got the opportunity to join NFCU, and couldn't pass up the opportunity. I was immediately approved for membership and then applied for the cashRewards visa. After 3 days and sending in income verification APPROVED for $10,000.00 MY NEW HIGHEST LIMIT. I also applied for Diners Club Premier, I waited about a week before calling in. This one saddens me the most, because I'm not yet 21 they require a signature to approve the card. What's weird is she said after reviewing everything it would be approved but because I'm 19 they will require a signature. The only way I can sign is at a BMO branch, they don't have one near Dallas Texas Does anyone have an idea how to get that signed, they won't mail it either.

Next I jumped on the NASA waggon. SP'd for everything, but declined for the CC. Reason was because I had to many INQ on EX (which I pulled last night) and only had 6. That's the only reason they stated, anyone know how RECON friendly they would be.

This is where I made my first mistake, I wanted to get in with Barclay, and I thought I was app'ing for the Ring. Well I actually submitted an app for Apple Financing card which I really don't want. Immediately approved for $3,000.00. Once I realized that it was the Apple card, I went ahead and applied for the ring. I got the 7-10 waiting message, which is still pending (just checked). I'm not sure if I should call now or wait.

I would like to continue this spree and add a few more cards to garden over the next two years, anyone have any ideas. Scores range from 685-726 and income is ~$70,000.00. Thanks guys!

Wow! That's great. Congrats. That's a couple of grand more than what I have overall. I got outright denied for Diners Club because I wasn't 21. They never asked me for any signature.

As for Barclays, I think you could have just applied for the US Airways card instead which you can actually PC to either the Barclay Rewards or the no annual fee version of the Arrival. It's not too difficult to get IMO. Mine was instant approval even after getting denied for the Sallie Mae. Then you can ask them to see if they can move the limit of the Apple card over to your other Barclay card if you end up getting it.

but why do you need that many credit cards especially Amex with annual fee at 19

oh wait a minute you make 70k a year - heck , why not apply for Amex platinum or citi prestige as well

To the OP. You've got a long life ahead of you. Garden what you got for a while and let those accounts age, Otherwise you'll start spooking your creditors, and nobody wants that.

Good advice here OP. What's the rush at 19? Lots of doors will open for you when you least expect it. Is Diners Club a need? Wait until you reach 21 and then apply. Also, NASA FCU has mixed results as far as reconsiderations go and varies on a case by case basis. There is a lending committe that meets every so often during each week to review reconsideration requests. The process (from what I last read) takes anywhere from 3-4+ weeks to know an answer - they're still backed up.

I know that you want to continue to apply for cards because you are getting a lot at once. But why do you need so many?

Thanks everyone for the responses, I travel often for work so every card has it's own use. I have worked very hard to be where I'm at, when I was still in high school I applied for an office job and they thought it was a joke. I called almost everyday until they hired me, since then I have been advancing through the company. I'm also currently in College so I stay busy.

As far as wanting more credit right now, I know I have a long time ahead of me. My reasoning behind it was because I had already began a spree and wanted to get everything out of the way so I could garden the limits. Everyone on the forum has helped me so much over the last year! Thanks everyone!!
