Comenity softs Experian for VS and I think Equifax for J Crew. Each store has different pre-approval criteria.

J Crew likes to be more generous so may have higher standards.

It also seems like everyone gets approved for VS or atleast its the first shoppping cart trick almost every gets. For me its the only one that works no matter what and my scores are all mid to high 600s so idk.

I got approved for J. Crew, Express, and Ny&CO within the last week using the shopping cart trick. Scores have been fluctuating from getting baddies removed and adding new tL. Currently have 12-15 inquires across all three bureaus so who knows. Also have add 12 new accounts within the last 30days.

Do i have to have a profile with the store to try the shooping cart trick? tried it on vickies. did NOT work for me lol. just got approved for cap1 quick silver 3 wks ago and BOA secured within the last week. Am I appying too much???

Someone on here mentioned that VS, Buckle and other Comenity cards usually use TU, but that JCrew, their MasterCard and Visas use EX or EQ for the softpull/hardpull. I have many Comenity "store" cards, but have never seen the JCrew or the MC/Visa shopping cart tricks work for me.

Makes me think the post was spot on as for JCrew using EX/EQ as both of those are tanked for me right now, where as TU is growing strong. I can get Express, JJill, Loft, Ann Taylor, and other Comenity pre-approval shopping cart tricks any day of the week, but not JCrew or their MC/Visa ones.

VS is the only one I can't get. Got Overstock, Express, Ashley Stewart, Brylane Homes, Ann Taylor, J Crew, but nothing on VS
