I have never actually thought of asking for a CLI on any of our credit cards until I started reading this forum. So I have had my walmart credit card since december 2012. I don't have any late payments but I have had months of high balances and a few times went over the balance. I tried to do in online but it said I have to call. So any experience with getting a CLI from walmart? What their requirements are and how hard/easy it is to get one? And I have seen people talk about a backdoor # for CC companies. What is that? and does Walmart have one? Or a RECON line? (idk what that is either... i've just seen it talked about for various companies here).

GE typically likes people that PIF and you can always call Credit Solutions to see how they can help you. YMMV.

get your balance down before you call. ask for 10k or more (need tires, new phone, etc on 0% interest promo as well as gas and groceries and would like to keep your utilization in check)

So when the balance is low Call and ask for the 10k --- you mean tell them I need a high balance so my UTL won't be 100% after I get new tires or new phone?

tell them you are redecorating your living room and need a new large screen TV and want to start doing some christms shopping. Card doesn't have to be a zero balance, I have gotten CLI's with 10-20% of my CL in use without a problem.

I get a CLI every four months. While I have 25 to 30% utility. 400 up to 800 up to 1800 up to 2900 over a sixteen month period. Never had to call though always a soft pull online. I have heard that sometimes they have you call to offer WalMart Mastercard instead of cli on store card. Good Luck

I called the # on the denial letter after hitting the luv button. First spoke with CSR. Asked for UW, suprvr said hold, call went to India (was on Sat.)

raised limit to $7800 from 1800.

I wish you the best with getting a Walmart CLI!!! It took me 16 months to get a CLI of $150 via the luv button. Credit Solutions wasn't much help.

My 19 year old went from 300 to 1400 in six months without asking for an increase. She has never pif and carries high balances. She always pays on time and uses them an average of once a month. She got the 1100 increase last month.

omg i just open my walmart mastercard few days ago with a toy limit of 400 dollars! well i just call that same numer and request to increase it to 5000 AND BAM BAM aproved for 9900 WHATTTTTTTTTTT cool!!

damn shame they could'nt just give you that last 100 to make it an easy 10k, sweet CLI, big congrats!
