Chase Freedom - Approved

Finally in with Chase! First credit card with them...

Got the pre-qual and applied saturday and got stuck on verfication/fraud dept, called them today answered a few simple questions and approved for 4k for my first card with them.

Give it a few months or so then will be going after the CSP and hopefully break the 5k or 10k barrier. Anyways happy that I am in with them and since I am leaving on a trip this coming weekend it will arrive wednesday expedited to me as well.

Baffles me why I was turned down for the amazon visa chase card 1.5 months ago when nothing really changed about my prorfile and I reconned till my face was blue... I guess they make you waste a HP until you get in with them, you think it would be more simple underwritting standards! I was expecting to get approved for 500 after that denial. Can only speculate why it was denied other then some baddies on CR of course

Yep it makes no sense at all.... CSP has to have higher standards tthen the amazon rewards card one would think... I gurantee I will have a pre approval for the CSP in a few months on there web-site from what I have read from others.. Once you have one account with chase you are golden. Still dont understand why we both got declined 1 or 1.5 months prior for amazon visa? Shrug.

I got my Freedom in FEB this year, my first prime card. Never received a pre-approval for the CSP just applied last weeks and was insta approved after verification. For the amazon visa they said that aaoa was a factor. Well right before I app'd for the CSP i had 3 new cards start reporting so I really don't know how they made the decision at all.

Ya really weird since you already had the freedom and got turned down suposibly on an easier card to get being the amazon vias and then a month later you got approved for the CSP... Makes no sense to me, but it worked out none the less probably for the better for you!

Maybe Chase wants to market the CSP more than their other cards and get those out to more people. I think Barclays works the same way.

Yep I had same experience. Amazon Visa denied but Freedom and a car loan got a green light..

Congrats, make sure you send a message to them asking if they can upgrade your promo to the $200 that is the current one if you didn't got that.

Ya I plan on asking them for the 200 promo vs 100 promo once I get the card and activate it.. I took the preappoval on the webiste and that was only the 100, although I knew about the 200 at the time... They hopefully should honor it.

They will. They even honor apps from more than a month.

I have had a banking relationship with Chase for about an year. I started actively working on improving my credit mid 2013 and have held off applying for Chase Freedom. Prior to just now enrolling in My Fico I was using free credit score and Credit Karma for my score monitoring and submitting disputes. i've cheked the Chase pre-qualified section for months and i've had the Freedom as an offer, I held off until today I decided to give it a shot and I instantly got approved for the card with a 1500 credit limit. I got the highest interest rate but i'm not too worried about it as most purchases are paid down to 30% utilzation and Freedom has 15 months 0% interest. Gives me time to use the card and try to negotiate interest rate with Chase in the future.
