Freedom and CSP piggyback approved!!!

Hey everyone! I finally got a preapproval for a chase card (Slate) last night! I've heard that if you get this preapproval for this card it is pretty likely to get approved for Freedom. Combine that with the 200 dollar offer and I couldn't resist apping online last night. I ended up getting 13.99% for 16 months and a $3500 limit!

That in itself was nice, but I went into my local chase bank and apped for the CSP this afternoon and was instantly approved for their 40k bonus offer with 12.74% APR and a $5000 limit.

This is my first siggy and the combined bonus points between the two AND the bonus from adding DW as an AU to each should pay for one of our tickets to Paris this spring.

All in all it was a good day

Congratulations on your approvals! Unfortunately the CSP is chip and signature not chip and pin so you probably wont be able to set a pin. I may be wrong about that though so dont quote me on it

Jdear148 - believe you can set your own pin for the ATM cash advance. Mixed reporting on how overseas systems default on chip & signature/pin or ___? Read some different responses on this.

I don't know about the pin for CSP, what I can tell you is that I have 2 credit cards from Mexico that have chip. One is chip and signature, the other is chip and pin. So when I use them in Mexico they put the card in the reader (to read the chip), then the terminal ask for pin (for the one that use it), then print the receipt without space for signature. The other is read and print the receipt, then there is a space where I need to sign.

I used my Mexican chip and pin in Canada, just like I use it in Mexico, entered the pin at the terminal. I don't know how that works in other countries. Maybe there are countries that only process chip and pin, but don't know.

Hey, congrats on your limits and low APR's!!! I got the Slate last month too through a pre-qualfied app with the usual 0% for 15 months and then 12.99. However, for the CSP isn't the minimum APR 15.99? You said something like 12.74%, but do you mean 15.99%?

Prime Rate: Variable APRs are based on the 3.25% Prime Rate as of 2/22/2010.

aWe add 12.74% to the Prime Rate to determine the Purchase/Balance Transfer APR.

12.74% + 3.25% = 15.99% Right?
