NFCU & a BIG Thank You to CreditAddict!

After bothering the amazing CreditAddict with a million questions and scenarios, I finally just called into NFCU and became a member, which the CSR said was an immediate approval and translated into AWESOME news! lol

So, after she asked if I'd be interested in any of the services they offer, I said, reluctantly, yes a credit card. So she transferred me over to the credit card dept. Got yet ANOTHER nice CSR and after a while of back and forth talking and giving her all of my info and card transfer amounts, she said to hold and it would take about a minute to see what I was approved for. I was totally SHOCKED and HAPPY when she said $7500 and a much lower APR than what I'm paying now! I got the Visa Signature cashRewards. I'm still afraid it was a mistake and they'll call me with bad news. My balances are high on my two Cap 1 cards. This will most certainly help my utilization. Maybe CAP 1 will finally give me a CLI after this.

The two CSR's I had were so helpful. I'm blown away.

Sweet ! Congrats on your awesome CL and welcome to the NFCU family. Yes Creditaddict is an NFCU Guru Gave me a lot of good advice on Navy as well.

Congrats!!!! I also just joined this morn and the site has been down allday!!! And I just got off the phone with NFCU and there is no update and she asked if she could do anything else.. I don't know if I should call back or wait until it's back online and apply..

Sounds like you got a great limit on your approval

I actually HAD to call in because my son in the Air Force, isn't a member. They did everything over the phone. Took a while, but worth it. I haven't gotten to set up account online because of them being down. I'll try in the morning I guess.

I never would have heard of NFCU had it not been for this site! I'm so glad I found it they are amazing. Certainly better than USAA from a banking and lending perspective.
USAA is still amazing with insurance!

I have to say the folks at NFCU are some of the nicest people Ive ever dealt with in any business. Genuinely nice people. Not too even mention that they have blown me off of my chair with the approvals and awesome rates. I am so lucky to be a part of that organisation.

Congrats!! I just became a member today. Did you open a checking as well? Also do you know what report they used for the credit card. I want to try for the card!

I also had to call in today to set mine up due to my grandfathers (both passed away) retired from the Army and was instantly approved fr membership. I just keep going back and forth with applying fr the CC now or waiting. They pulled TU for membership. Npt sure what they pull for CCs. Congrats!!!!

I believe they pull TU for membership and EQ for credit cards, which was why I was so apprehensive on that part. I got the Cash Rewards Visa. The lady told me that you can have up to three cards with NFCU and after a year for me to ask for my apr to be reduced and I could do that every single year thereafter if needed. It was also recommended to me to get a second card for using since I am using this card to transfer balances over. I don't know if I'd be pushing my luck though. Probably won't use this for regular purchases until I pay off that transfer. I hope I can do that sooner than later.

Congratulations to you also! They never did ask for my son's information though. I even asked them if they needed it, thinking they forgot.
