Are there any Visa or Mastercards I can be preapproved for using the shopping cart trick? Not just store cards but cards I can use elsewhere as well. Thank you in advance. I have a 671 on EQ .

Comenity Capital Bank (high-end private label subsidiary of Comenity Bank) also services the Barneys New York Credit Card. Unfortunately, there is no shopping cart trick for them.

Yes, there are a couple of VISA cards that are available through the "shopping cart" trick. One is through Sportsman's Guide Visa (stated in the list) and MyPoints Visa (also stated in the list). There is also a sign up for the Total Rewards - which can preapprove you for that Visa.

I was instantly preapproved for the Sportsman's Guide Visa as soon as I signed up through the Sportsman's Guide site. They gave me a $10,000 credit line with no questions asked and it was a soft pull as they only asked for the last four of my social. I was also instantly preapproved for the MyPoints Visa with a $2,500 credit line.

Then - as soon as I signed up through the Total Rewards site a pop up instantly came up and approved me for the Total Rewards Visa. I declined this one as I've read of the extremely low starting credit lines. That one didn't appeal to me. All of the above were through instant pop ups.

Go to MyPoints.com and sign up (Register) for the MyPoints rewards. Then I logged out - cleared history etc.... Then logged back in to MyPoints.com and the pop-up came right up for me pre-approving me for their MyPoints Visa.

@I got the sportman's guide to work for the first time ever, anyone know if they are generous with CLs? I dont want to take it and bring down my AAoA unless I have a shot @ 5k

JMills - because I am familiar with the product and their CCB transition/conversion efforts. This used to be managed in-house by BNY before it was transitioned to CCB. Additionally, as a high-end retailer, the only offer for pre-approvals is through mail solicitation (i.e. you shop with them frequently) or if you apply directly at their stores. Also, CCB is handled as a separate private label division from CB.

No, just as soon as I logged back in to MyPoints the pop up appeared telling me I was pre-approved. I didn't do any shopping at all. Let me know if you have any other questions as I will be glad to help any way I can.

Just an FYI...The shopping cart trick worked the very first time with Brylane Homes - Victoria Secret - Express. Just as soon as we went through the check out process the pop up for the pre-approval appeared.

It worked for express but it wont work for the sportsmans guide. do you need to register first? there is no pop up at checkout.

You have to act like you are going to sign up for their membership (I believe it's $29.95) add it to your shopping cart. Then add a pair of boots or something like that to your cart as well. So you will have two items in your cart. Then proceed to check out. Once the pop up apprears, you can accept or decline. Once you've done one or the other, go back to your cart and remove the two items (including the membership fee).

Note:

Before you go back in to do this, clean your history etc...Then sign back in and try the above.

Important: Make sure your billing information is correct when you set up the account and it must match what the credit bureaus have on your file.

Name - address - DOB etc... (Look at the most recent copy of your credit report to ensure you have the same information as they do).

followed your steps, tried several times clearing history and cookies each time and no dice. I continued purchase as Guest idk if that might have played a role. I dont think so tho because i didnt have to make an account for the express card.

I also signed up with Total Rewards but no pop up. I went for the Hard Pull after seeing the link for the app at the bottom of the page and got 7-10 day message.

This was with 671 EQ I just checked.

I had that card a couple of years ago. They sent me a notice about discontinuing the card program. All I got of the card was $5 Starbucks gift card. By the way, Sharper Image card was discontinued too. I don't think they have Petland Card either. I think they change the lender.

its better than nothing , i have been trying for j crew for last month or so an i don't get anything :-(
