OVERSTOCK Card Don't do it unless . . .

So I tried to do the shopping cart trick with Overstock.com and it worked!

I added a sofa and a coffee maker, then went to fill in my address, email, etc.

The pop-up was a little slow that I almost closed my browser. By the way, I logged in on a Chrome Incognito browser.

Then lo-and-behold the pop-up came up but I was very dissapointed.

It acted like a typical Comenity pop-up but when I clicked on the "YES, I am interested," button, the next page asked for your FULL SSN. No thanks! I don't need another HP. So beware if you are watching your HPs. I like shopping at Overstock but don't want to waste a HP on this store card.

If anyone has gone on to apply for the card, can you please let us know if your CRA lists a HP or SP. Also, what was your initial CL.

There are numerous posts about this very recently. Search the forum and you'll see quite a few of us applied and no HP.

I did this a few days ago and it was a SP. Approved for $4800

Did you really get a SP and not a HP? That's great to know but I wonder why they asked for a full SSN. Hmmmmmmmmm.

I took the plunge and received a $4,000 CL!

I immediately checked my CRA and EX lists it as a Softy! SP and a nice CL = I'm happy!!!

Alright, time to do some early Holiday Shopping - they have have 12 months no interest. I can handle that.

Did they send you an additional 25% off? I received an email abut an hour after I submitted my order and they sent me a coupon to use on my next order. No expiration date.

I really want this card, but can not get the pop-up to come up. I've heard it will come up after putting in your address, but mine is already pre-filled in. Any suggestions? Congrats on the CL!

Make sure the address you type in is EXACTLY like it is on your CR. The systems needs to know it's you. Even one letter off or abbreviation can make a difference.

I'm wondering if that is the problem because we just bought a house. But, I did went to opt-in and used my new address and got one for Buckle and VS, so I would think this should work too.

I've bought furniture and kitchen items from them and still have them since 2005! By the way I joined their O Card membership for free shipping and I noticed their VIP prices are much lower plus you get a rebate for every order. The $4.95 membership special is sooooo worth it. The free shipping is on anything no mattern how small the order. I mean I can order a pair of socks and the cost of shipping that in a envelope pays for the membership!
