When to Apply for Amex BCE?

Decided to apply and upon looking realized the Amex EveryDay was a better fit so applied for that instead and was approved for $4,000. Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone. I really want the Amex BCE card and was wondering when would be the soonest I could apply and what my chances would be. I ask because there’s been a good amount of activity on my end so I’m not sure how long I need to wait (if I need to at all) before all of this settles.

Background:

Opened Amex SPG for $10,000 on 09/2014 (first and only Amex card)
Requested and approved for Amex SPG CLI to $25,000 on 12/2014
3 hard inquiries before Amex SPG (02/2014, 08/2013, 07/2013)
Applied and approved for Capital One Quicksilver for $10,000 on 11/2014
Applied and approved for Citi Double Cash for $6,800 on 12/2014
Applied and approved for Chase Freedom CLI from $200 to $400 (lol)
AAoC is 1 year 10 months without QS or Double Cash; oldest account is about 4 years old
TU score is 740 without QS, Double Cash, or SPG CLI
Income is $80,000 a year
$20,000 in student loans outstanding
7 hard pulls total (12/2014, 12/2014, 11/2014, 09/2014, 02/2014, 08/2013, 07/2013)
Always pay in full for every card; never had a late payment
No baddies

I know Amex is less strict on the time requirement between card applications but at the same time I do have a good number of recent pulls. I’m in the process of getting Citi to enroll me in the Double Cash sign-up bonus program right now. I was planning on applying for the Amex BCE in early January if Citi doesn’t enroll me but I’m pretty sure that’s too soon.

Given all this activity, when would you guys say I should apply for the Amex BCE and what would my chances be? Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks!

Just go for it.

High odds of the SP if denied scenario, since you already have one card. If you're shot down, you'll get your latest fico in the letter too.

Edit: Didn't sound right the way I typed it out. Since you're already a card holder, you're facing the SP if denied (even though a very rare few claim HPs in the situation).

I applied for three AMEX cards within 72 hours ... all 3 were separate HP's. Approved for all.

Congrats.. But seriously... Chase is ridiculous for giving you that kind of line. Waht are you suppose to do with $200?

I applied for that Freedom card the day I turned 18. First credit card ever. Only history with Chase before that was just a student checking account that was about a year old at the time. They've been stingy about increasing it as long as I could remember. I've gotten used to it though. And on that note, I realized I was racking up inquiries so I thought one more wouldn't hurt. I just threw in an application for the Sallie Mae WMC and was approved for $8,800 as well! Great day and week credit card wise.

Congrats on two great cards. LOL at chase. I would take some time, then apply for another chase card (AARP), then transfer some limit over to freedom, if you still find the freedom needed,
