Amex Hilton Honors Approved

Applied for the Amex Hilton HHonors card early this morning since there was a 60K bonus offer I found that expires today (1k spend in first 3 months). I've been wanting a second Amex revolver for backdating (2006) to partially offset my 5 new accounts over the past few months.

Since I don't have enough spend to justify an AF card it was either this or the Amex Everyday, which I would never use beyond the initial bonus. The 60k offer will be good for about five $50 + 12k points night stays. I figure that's better overall value than a year of Amazon Prime and using MR points at Amazon. The Hilton card will basically be my dining card when the Chase AARP statement is about to cut, so no permanent sock drawer after the bonus spend.

I'm not 100% sure on the APR yet, but I got instantly approved for a $3,500 limit. Amex has been pretty stingy on limits with me over the years, so I am pleasantly surprised they didn't go too low on me in reponse to my recent inquiries and new accounts. I'll be looking forward to day 61.

Congrats! They've been stingy on my limits as well. The only way I could get my HHonors card to $10k was through two reallocations. Despite pretty decent spend!

Thanks again for the congrats, everyone. For some reason they rushed the card to me and I already got it. To follow up on the APR I was wondering about I got the worst APR possible at 19.24%. I don't know if they offer a 0% period to some cardholders, but I didn't get one.

Here were my stats at the time of approval in case you are thinking about applying:

EX FICO - 736 (from their letter)

EX Inquiries - 6 in last 12 months (Damn Sprint and FNBO)

5 accounts opened since Sept 2014

5.2% Overall Utilization

I was definitely borderline given my APR. I'm pretty sure it was the new accounts. I never plan on paying interest again on my life though, so I guess it's good to have even more incentive to pay in full each month.

Wow...I really want this card. I have over 50K HH points and the use of this card would be a nice add on.

I use Hilton when ever I travel for work.

I app'd today and go a 14day in review reponse, so I recon'd on at the EO's office to see if I could speed the decision.

The lady was very nice and took my information and said she would call me back later today or tomorrow..

Today is almost over so I hope to hear from her tomorrow.
