Hello,

Just got approved for Cap One Quicksilver and Cap One Platinum but both limits are $300! Has anyone had any luck calling and having them reconsider the CL and giving an increase to at least $1000?

What are the "credit steps" cli? Sorry haven't had Cap one in over 5 years.

No but if you read some Cap 1 threads, you'll see that theyre very generous lately when it come to CLI's. Seems to be the case for eveyone that reports using the cards and PIF. You'll need 5 or 6 months of patience. Many have gone from 300-500 to 2 or 3k.

There is a cap on credit line increase request link at their website, but you are fairly new as a customer it seems so you may want to wait 6 months with some responsible use showing.

I started off with a $500 cl. Maxed it out in a week and pif immediately after.. Then contacted EO and they raised my limit to 1000..this was all before my first statement.

I would contact EO.

Any clis you get Before credit steps will not affect it and you will still get your credit steps cli.

U asked what is credit steps.. Capital one in about 2-3 weeks will email you regarding a guaranteed credit limit increase agree 6 statements..

I had a Capital One secured card for a few years a couple years back but closed it since they only gave me a CLI once for $100. I was never late though and paid it off before closing the account.

Sorry about the 300 limits.. Those will both be in credit steps.. It gurantees if you pay on time for 5 months and are not late etc. you will get a $200 increase on each card, but most likely some people see more.. I was was one that got a 200 increase and had to go the EO route to get a decent limit after credit steps... Ugh you just took 6 HP's with Cap1.. Baby jesus is crying right now

Ugh I am going to talk to the EO and be like "Listen I need the quicksilver limit to be at least $1k, you can close my cap platinum or transfer the CL to the quicksilver but I have discover, bofa and barclay that all have higher limits that all get cashback and if my limit isn't at least $1k what is the point in even having the quicksilver...? "

Cap1 really doesn't play that way.... Best Bet is sit it out with credit steps or can try the EO route, but most likely they will want to see some history.. Weclome to Cap1.

OP i see 2 cards you can focus specific attention on getting higher limits with CLI on, depending on their current history. I missed out getting my BofA 3-2-1 increased by waiting too long when it was actually eligible within 4 months. Yes, BofA is HP but you can usually ask reasonably high and they should counter with a satisfactory CLI on it. Mine went from 1K to nearly 5K the first CLI request, PLUS opened a Better Balance Rewards right after that CLI! and was approved! Barclays may or may not be the other one at 6 months but if you request it they HP for it.

Sorry on the dual low land approvals, i would be scratching my head too. Best of Luck!!!

Just curious, but why would you app for the platinum when you have plenty of rewards cards while that one has no rewards?
