NFCU secured now unsecured!! Finally!

So my NFCU secured card with 500$ limit was the first card I got after being discharged in Aug of 2013. After reading all of the information, I figured it was best to go with NFCU because the card turns unsecured after a year. Well a year passed and I was getting so frustrated because no one could tell me why my perfect payment card would not become unsecured. Hell, I got a unsecured card from NFCU in JAN of 2014 for $500 and even got a CLI to $1500 about 5 months ago. Why in the world wouldn't they unsecure my other card? I couldn't close it because I didn't want to screw with the age of my accounts. Well I'm happy to say I just went in to check my Checking balance, and I saw it was unsecured!! Now the CLI was bumped up to only $1000. But I can deal with that. Patience pays off! (Well, I was actually very impatient, but stuck it out)

So now 17 months after bankruptcy my husband and I have Capital One cards, we each have 2 NFCU cards, and we have a limited amount of store cards for furniture and a Kohls card. Both of our scores have jumped to an average around 650. Hard work and dedication pays off!! I want to buy our first house 2 years out, and hoping my score will be in the 700s. Thank you so much to this board. You guys have been amazing and so supportive. This once clueless girl who had no idea about credit scores, is now the same girl who can answer questions on a monthly basis from friends and coworkers about credit. All owed to you!

You are at $1500 with the card that was unsecured to begin with? and have had it for a year?

Go online and request a CLI to $25k now!

Haha CA I just read this and Ive been on your other thread the last hour. I chickened and only did 6k. Auto approval. Then did my 1k limit to 3k. Auto Approval. Wrote on your thread and they told me to ask for more. So I asked for 8k for both and got the message of only 7k or further review. So I just accepeted the 7k. Now I think Im good? I guess once you get that it will be HPs from now on?

If you were countered you are good... Now don't you feel fantastic with 2 $7k lines... Next time don't pkay and just ask for $25k but now you need to wait 3-6 months
