Wells Fargo Propel World Amex approved... Finally!!

Been trying to get this card for a very long time now, it has a nice signup bonus and probably the only decent WF card available. This is my 4th attempt I believe and finally successful for $2500. Not a whole lot but I'm ok with that, I now have CCs from all of the 4 major US banks. In order to get this card I opened a Wells Fargo checking account back in July because I heard they liked relationship and in the mean time got an auto loan at an awesome rate a few months back as well with them which I'm sure helped out alot. This one had me very irritated and accounts for 4 of my EX INQs over the past year! Finally approved! It was instant

Congrats, I must say I am upset with Wells Fargo, I applied for and was approved for a card with them on Dec 22, its Jan 9 and I still have yet to receive the card. WF is among the worst Ive ever encountered from a mailing documents/etc standpoint.

I definitely dont have my hopes set to high with them and I'm well aware at how much they suck according to most of the feedback from here and other places but I really wanted this card. Hopefully I can make the best of it, if not at least I get a nice sign up bonus.

Oh my God man! It is possible. Makes me not want to close my WF account at all just for this. I've had WF products since 2010 but didn't really get back into them until 2013 and besides having their crap $700 college card, I've never been able to get anything else. Their platinum card they wanted tax returns from me and I didn't wanna go through all that trouble either.

sorry for the denial, I feel your pain, I thought they would never approve me. They are next to impossible to deal with without any banking relationship so if you want them in the future hang on to the account a bit longer and eventually it'll payoff. I'm still in shock I got approved and this one was by far my hardest to get.

You're right. I hate dealing with the $3 fee they put on my checking account since it's a college version and all but I'll probably keep $100 in it and try again in a few more months.

LOTS of new accounts in the past 6 months. Many EX INQs too, 8 just fell off my report this week and I still had 42! yet they still approved me. Luckily alot of my pulls were in these two months 2 years ago so by March I should be down to 29 EX INQs finally. I have 2 EQ and 2 TU INQs but I'm almost certain they pulled EX

I'm not sure. I'm counting 2010 technically because my debit card still says I've been a member since 2010. I had a joint account with my sister and I can't remember what happened, but it somehow got charged off for like 80 dollars though that never showed up on any of my CRs. I had to pay that amount to get back in with them and even getting the student card took many tries for me because of that until April of last year when I was able to recon that and get the card. Since I've had my checking account for so long now and have kept in good standing, the charge off is no longer a factor in whether I get approved for their cards or not.

Interesting, sounds like you should be able to get it easily with how well you've managed your accounts recently. What was their reason for denial?

Their reasoning on the WF Propel made more sense. Number of accounts opened in the last 24 months but what I hated is that it took them days just to reach that decision and they asked me for utilty bills and a bunch of other things to verify my identity first. I remember them leading me on to believe that I might get approved. Even US Bank's process made a lot more sense to me and they never asked me for so much stuff.

That's terrible, put you through all that trouble for nothing. They are super slow with everything so when my decision was instant tonight it blew me away. You'll get it eventually
