Lowes approved initially for $3k but bumped to $10k

I can't believe it. I finally have my first $10k limit card. Decided to go for Lowes seeing as how people have gotten really good limits with this card and how it can make for a great utilization bumper on top of their financing offers. Instantly approved $3k but I called Credit Solutions and requested $10k and to my surprise, they gave me the full amount and no counteroffers either.

I played around with the Home Depot prequal tonight and was actually prequalified! I NEVER get anything from CITI.

Congrats but you should have asked for $25K 😀. When the card comes in go in chat and ask them to bump it to $25K

I don't think I woud have been ready for that. I'll definitely be calling Credit Solutions again in a few months on this card to see if I can get it increased to $17k at least. Also, I was almost sure I was just gonna get another counteroffer on this card.

I'll take your suggestion and try that on Monday and see what happens. I don't wanna be hit with the whole "not experienced at your credit limit" business just because I wanted to try for even more.

I don't think you would be told that. They bumped me on chat from $300 to $25K. Tell them you have a big project coming up. On chat they'll counter if they won't give you that but I'm sure you would get more then $10K. Don't call though. Wait for the card and set your account up and use chat.

Don't feel bad, I screwed up and left money on the table also. I meant to come back and ask for another increase and never did for some reason. Maybe I'll wait to see how your request goes now.

I asked for $10k after activating the card and was approved through chat. So, about 10 mins later I asked again through chat saying I mistakenly asked for $10k when I meant to ask for $20k.......they countered with $17k.

I have a feeling that's how much I'll be able to get. I wouldn't wanna leave a potential extra $7k lying around like that. Higher limits beget higher limits is something that I truly believe in.
