BIG, HUGE, Success! (for me anyways)

If it were not for this commuity, I would not have had the guts to try! Thank you all!!!!!

I JUST was approved for an Amazon store credit card with a $700 limit!!! This means a LOT to my self-esteem, and gives me MORE motivation to continue with my credit repair and rebuilding efforts!

Background...After working in a professional position at the same employer for seven years, I resigned my position due to ethical/moral dilemma. Sad to say, being without an income stymied my ability to pay on me credit card accounts. Even accounts I was making payment on CLOSED accounts on me, due to my tanking credit score. Fast forward to present day...I am in a better position now, although still unemployed, and am trying to figure out how to take care of past debt, without further damaging my credit score. This is why I am spending so much time on the forums, and reading a LOT.

I decided to "go for" the Amazon card, and Viola! I only "charged" a measly $24, and want to use this as a tool to increase my credit score, not as an actual way to live above my means. If I had not read the posts in the forums, I would not have had the guts to even try.

You will all be seeing more of me on the forums, posting questions...and hopefully once I learn enough and improve my own lot, answering questions and helping others too.

VERY happy for you! I know personally how overwhelming it can be when you hit a rough patch and your credit tanks! It's enough to deal with a loss of job and then this happens! You must know it WILL pass and time truly heals all! You're on your way! It will only get better from here! There will still be rough patches but just know you will get through! GREAT job and congratulations!!!

I've had a couple big successes myself lately that others might not think are such a big deal. I was approved for $700 CL with Fingerhut a couple weeks ago. I haven't spent anything, but I know I need to so I can take advantage of the credit boost and so they don't drop my CL. Also was approved for $500 CL unsecured CapOne QS1 today. That's a low CL compared to others on here, but considering where I am in my rebuilding, I'm happy.

I just had success getting a QS1 with $500 CL as well! I have a few other credit cards, secured Cap 1 and a credit one unsecured but it only has a $300 limit, and a few low limit store cards. The small successes count too! Good thing about the QS1 is it offers good CLI (it's in the credit steps program) if you use it properly and the more you run through it the better your increase. This is one of them YMMV things, I have good scores and still struggle to get some credit. Not for long though :-D

With the Amazon card, you'll have it growing in no time. I'd even see if you can get a higher CLI on the chat. I'd go high and request $10k in the hopes of a good counteroffer. Congrats.

It does feel good to get approved for something! I'm gardening now but I remember how that felt especially when your rebuilding (I had a bk). Just use the advice from the forums, and you'll be back in shape in no time! They certainly have helped me! congrats!
