So we called Discover Saturday Jan 3rd. to answer security questions -- congratulations, Approval of $1400. will get card in mail 7-10 days

Got a letter today dated Jan 5th --- OFFER LONGER AVAILABLE/EXPIRED

Back says EX and EQ pull

FICO 631 Dec. 29.2014

Range 300-850

Key factors - Serious delinq

Length of time accts. established

Time since derog or collections too short

% of balance too high on revolv. accts.

Date on the letter is the following Monday after we called Saturday and approved over the phone.

Hope they didn't change their mind!!!

Call them asap. Their CSRs are usually very helpful.

JSULLY, I'm sorry it seems like you and DH can't catch a super positive break.

I am sure that if your credit ap was sent to manual review, and your credit report showed negative movement with the score it could play a major role. Perhaps with the fiasco with NFCU is a trickle down affect. Your utilization could have increased with NFCU closing those new accounts, the balance transfer would show the other account maxed out, not to mention it would also look like the NFCU accounts would look very new.

I would definitely check with Discover and try to recon the decision. GL

OKay -- on the phone now -- apparently when approved on the 3rd, rates expired that day.

They said I have to reapp -- not excited being that new NFCU accts reported one closed, one open. Balance transfers not reporting yet.

So util is okay...

BUT - they said they have to repull - but they will delete other INQ.

So now talking to Senior Analyst.

Thank you -- I am now talking to probably the 6th person -- they keep asking me one or two questions and then transfering. They are reviewing info now....on hold....sweating bullets over here

I'm astonished by the poor customer service experience Discover is displaying in this situation. Good luck on the approval, but either way it goes I would send a letter to the EO about this.

Congratulations!! I'm sure you could recon but not sure if you'd get the $1400 back without knowing what the TRUE/MAIN reason they used to withdraw the offer.

Congrats! But that is a pretty bad first impression from Discover They are always the best customer service experience for me so thats surprising. I would have tried to recon the starting limit while on the phone with the rep but it may still be possible

You take it all the way to EO if you have to. Send them a letter about what happened. Reading this story actually has me incensed.

The offer was withdrawn because the app was Dec. 29th. It was approved over the phone on Jan. 3rd, the SAME day the rates expired.

So by "law" they couldn't give us those rates, so they made DH reapp.

They better remove the other INQ...they said they would....

I am very tempted to write a letter, but at the same time still really happy we got in to Prime.

Just tried calling Chase automated system to check status of Freedom after faxing DH ID. Wouldnt pull up. Will have him call to check that one as well. Hopefully its a better experience.
