Costco Amex Approved!

Never thought that this day would come. A few years ago my credit was horrificly bad hovering around 550 or so with lots of baddies. Now it's hovering around 700 with a mortgage and several big name cards. All baddies are gone and waited for a while to inquire (over 8 months) and app'd a couple of days ago and got the Costco Amex with a $6k limit! So pumped!

Nice, Congrats on the approval! The Costco TE card is the only one I am tempted to apply for currently, must resist the urge!

IMO that can be one of the toughest Amex cards to get. Congrats!

Thank you! I must admit, that having an Amex has a certain prestige to it. Not sure why but it does. So far here is what I've got:

Discover - 4,500

Citi Simplicity - 4,800

BOA Cash Sig - 5,000

Chase Amazon Visa -3,000

Fidelity Amex - 1,000

Costco Amex - 6,000

Lowes - 1,400

JCPenney - 1,400

Amazon Store - 1,900

Not bad for a guy who had no credit as of two years ago. ZERO balances on ALL! Thank you again MyFicoForums! You've all been a great help!

I was at my local Costco today and they had a tent set up and they were trying to get people to apply for the TE card. I didn't see what they were offering, but I saw them with gift bags etc, but I knew that if I went in I would probably have ended up applying since I have had this card on my wish list for years.

No, you do have to request the CLI either online or via telephone. Ask for the full 3x amount, they will either approve, counter with a different amount, or deny outright.

Congratulations on your approval - it's a great card to have in your wallet.

iv enoticed that when people are approved for Costco AMEX they are given a pretty big initial credit limit unlike BCP, BCE, and DELTA GOLD. Congrats yoo should feel very accomplished!!!
