Care Credit CLI "App Key #?"

I have some dental work scheduled for Friday and need to put over $1800 on my Care Credit account. I called the automated system, entered my income and residency status, and instead of coming back with the obligatory "Congratulations!" or "I'm sorry..." the system told me write down an Application Key number to give to the rep it was transferring me to. The offices are closed for the holiday, so i'll call back on Monday. But does anyone know what this is about, I've never experienced this with the automated system before???

did you ever figure out what this was?! I just got a key number last night and the offices were closed and didn't get a chance to call today.

they usually just ask you the questions again and hit the button on the computer and come back with counter or approved/denied... if you get approved you didn't ask for enough... you always want a counter from carecredit.

if you don't call back you can probably log in and see if they gave you an increase automatically.

Popa- sorry bout that. I searched these boards about this topic and couldn't find anything. I mean if they were gonna deny you a cli would they still make you call in with a key #? Doesn't seem right or make sense. Any one out there that can chime in?

Application key? Hmmmmm, haven't really heard of that. I was able to get a CLI approximately two days after I opened the account. Maybe it's related to that.

Not in my case. I have had my card for 6 months/6 statements. I got the usual increase two days after I opened the account, and just applied for an increase yesterday and received a key #, however their offices are closed until Monday. They haven't hard pulled me yet and I'm just wondering is it worth calling them? Anyone with experience on this, please share your story.

I groomed my card 2 years before I was granted a CLI. 3 denied 3 hard pulls, 1 approved 1 hard pull. added a bunch of junk INQ to my report for this card, but thats the cost of growth I think. Anyway, I have always just called into credit solutions after being auto denied, I get sent overseas and they just punch in the same info you already put in to the auto system. Then they give you yea or nea. The app key thing must be new, at the time of my last CLI REQ it was not in force, my last CLI was in July 2014.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think credit solutions handles this account? I thought it fell under their financing arm? Well we shall see what happens.

CareCredit does fall under the finance arm not credit solutions. Key # is pretty common and you just redo the request with the agent for some reason... I have hung up before when it gave a key number hoping to avoid hp but it hp and they increased the limit $800 by the next day so you can always log in monday and see if anything has changed or give them a call and process over the phone with someone... it's not a sign of approval or denial.

I should have updated this post with the outcome. I actually forgot to call, but I noticed that my CL had been increased by $6000, yes it was a hp on TU. Good luck and just check your account on Tuesday.

toi- thank you very much and congrats to you. I shall sit tigh and see what happens by Tuesday. I agree that I am not concerned with taking a tu hard, just strange that the hard pull didn't take place yesterday? Well I shall keep my fingers crossed.
