Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Approved

I wanted this card because I do have some miles with AAdvantage already and thought this could be useful for when I am traveling domestically. I travel mostly with One World airlines.

Got approved instantly for $2,000 , which is lower than I wanted. I called for a CLI to 6K and they said that I have to wait 14 business days...essentially when I get the card and activate it. I asked if I could transfer over my Citi Diamond Preffered 2,100 CL to increase this one and close my PIF Diamond as the limit is so low without any rewards on the Diamond card so I don't utilize it. I got transferred a few times and it was the same answer of waiting 14 days until they could try to do something for me.

I also moved this week but did not change my address on my application because I was afraid that a new address without any history on it would not help my application. I have mail forwarding set up, but I am not sure if the card will be sent back to Citi or forwarded to my new address. I still can go over to the old residence and pick up mail for the next month. Do you think I should call and have my address changed , see if the card can be sent there or should I wait? I was planning to change my address on file after I got the card anyways.

congrats on approval. sucks about the 14 days, but you never know what they'll say. As for your address, on the application, had you put your new address, they just would've asked you for a past address to verify.

Congrats on the approval. This card is my next later in 2015. I have received some cards with "DO NOT FORWARD" on the envelope. You definitely want to call them to find out.

I will give them a call today then. Is it usually hard to transfer CL from one card to another with Citi Bank? They made it certainly seem so.
