Walmart Credit Card Approval

Just app for a walmart cc online and got the 7-10 business days message. I called up the customer service to check on the status of my app. The lady told me that I was approved for a $150 CL for a walmart store card. I think it's a little ridiculous considering my reason why app for them is because I wanted to buy a mattress with a $269 price tag. I ask the lady if I can get a higher CL but the lady told me to ask for a CLI on the day of verification once I received the card in the mail. Do you think that's possible? What are my chances that I will not be denied for a CLI on the day of activation? Thanks to all who will reply.

You have to look at the 150.00 limit as your foot in the door and if you don't get a increase when you recieve it then use it and PIF and likely within 3-4 months it will be increased..

Congrats on the approval. But I'm sure Walmart will not increase limit that soon. Store card limits ALWAYS begin extremely low.

Congratulations! First of all and most important is "you got approved" The sound of that is always good. Well, now what's next after approval as many others have suggested here, try and use the card for things that are small in price. Remember, it's not the amount you get approved for instead how you use it. Now, I can tell you why your limit is so low, I can almost be sure it's because of your TransUnion score. It turns out that Walmart pulls TransUnion in making the credit limit decision. I will take a low credit limit any day than to get turned down. Enjoy the future of this credit card.

Some stores do give out temp limits for online approvals until verification, once the card is received, then the real starting CL is released. Not sure about Walmart. I applied in the store.

Not necessarily so, the start limit is derived from a host of factors that include Fico score, income, current utilization, the presence of derogs and more.

Just gotthe card in the mail and I immediately call to activate and request for the CLI that I am requesting for. They initially gave me a $150 and I told the guy that I wanted to buy the mattress but this time I want to include the bed that I saw online. He told me that it will be needing a credit review and I gave him the green light to proceed I initially asked for $2500 but they countered at $1500. I accepted it and my new credit limit is now $1500. Not really bad considering that it started with a $150. Thanks all for your advices and tips. See you at the garden.
