BofA graduated and CLI approved!

So approaching my anniversary date with BofA secured card (May 2nd) I decided to call to see if i was eligiible for early graduation. Unfortunately I wasnt yet so i aksed the CSR if when it graduates can i request a CLI and he told me sure but most likely it will be a HP on my report because i just PC to a new card. He said we can kill two birds with one shot and just request for early gradaution and a CLI. I said what the heck, he went ahead and proceeded and asked how much i wanted...I said 5000. Came back and congratulated me on my early gradaution and CLI approved!!!!...My first 5K card!!!

thanks H and it was at 2000. I just recently had got a CLI on my better balance MC from 2000 to 4000. I gotta say BofA has been very generous with me. No more secured cards for me!

So did you PC your secured card to a MC before it graduated? Can you do that?

No, i had the regular Platinum Plus Secured Visa and PCd to 123 Cashback Rewards Visa. I dont think you can PC from a Visa to MC or vice-versa (thats what i was told before i went ahead and applied for the Better Balance Rewards MC last month).

the cash rewards can be changed between MC and Visa.

Congrats on the approval!

I recently upgraded my old $500CL Worldpoints MC to the 123 Cash Rewards card and upped the limit to $1500 though in hindsight I probably should have asked for a higher limit. I'm waiting for the new card in the mail.

I called the number for BofA secured accounts...its in the "backdoor numbers" thread. 1-888-260-4696. Thanks everyone for the grats! The only reason i think i had a shot was because last month i was granted a CLI on my Better Balance card and had the card for only one month. They always check TU for CLI and my score as of recently was 715 and my utility is at 9% there at the moment. Do have a paid collection of 51 dollars and 2 chargeoffs from 2007 (which i am always asked about with any analyst).

with your siggy cards i think you would have had no problem getting at least 5K.

I requested the CLI prior to apping for the Freedom, BCE, and Discover It.

Actually, that HP is what instigated my app spree.

you will 1980! as of august 2012 i had been denied chase, citi, amex, and us bank. Thanks to this forum less than a year i have reached the 5K credit limit from a prime bank.
