BoA secured early graduation (updated)

Well, called last month and they told me to wait until the account was 5 months old minimum to be able to ask for a graduation.

Secured cash rewards with a $300 CL.

Analyst approved me to graduate early and said she liked the way I handled the card since opening it and said she was going to give me a $500 unsecured limit.

Really? Wow. And I payed with a big fat HP.

Oh well. Maybe I will get some auto-LUV.

Listen to me carefully. EXACT thing happened to me. Call back and talk to regular analyst and tell them you were just unsecured with a $500 limit. But in order to be able to make them your daily card, you need a much higher limit. They will use same hp up to 30 days. What is your highest limit right now?

Lowes $25k

Care Credit $14k

NFCU $14k

Fidelity AMEX $5k

Chase $3.5k

and many more lol, but you get the idea.

They are awesome about matching limits. Tell them to match Lowe's $25k. Easy peasy. When I unsecured I went to $500 from $300. Hung up and called back. Went to $1500. Called back in a couple weeks once my NFCU $10k limit reported BOOM they matched it!

Wow. Thanks for the advice. I think I will call them before my 30 days is up on the HP they have on file. Will they do another HP? $25k lowes isn't reporting yet.

If they are using the same HP, then how will they see the lowes reporting the new limit? I guess they will do a SP?

Oh wait. You WILL have to take another hp for them to see it. That's right. I used same hp when I went to $1500. But asked them to pull again a couple weeks later so they could see my NFCU $10k. But it is WELL worth it!

Congratulations OP. As stated above^^ Call the recon department. I unsecured at 5 months an 1 week from $500.00 to 5k visa signature. Best of luck.

Ok. Just got off the phone with an analyst about matching my NFCU limit of $14k.

Used same HP from 2 days ago when the card was unsecured. Put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said, "It looks like you have another card from our bank (Fidelity AMEX) so what I can do for you is match that limit ($5k) which will put your total credit with us at $10k."

It looks like my total exposure with BoA was a determining factor in their decision. Interesting.

Oh well. $5k is better than $500.

Yeah, I am pretty excited.

Paid off my secured loan through my bank and then closed the $2k CD that was securing it.

Closed my secured First Progress card in December and just got my $500 deposit 2 weeks ago.

Closed my secured Crapital 1 last month and just got my $99 deposit last week.

Now this BoA is graduated. Was a $300 deposit. Don't know how long that will take to get here.

Now my only secured card left is FNBO, $500. I may call soon and see about an early graduation. I don't think this card shows as secured on my credit report. So now all tradelines that show as secured are closed. I would think this would look good to future creditors.

Also nice to free up this much cash.

I assume most likely they pulled Transunion. Did an analyst ever mention the derogs to you? What so coincidental is that we both have the same equifax score at this moment.,

It goes to show my scores have been stagnant due to my two derogatories. I've been rebuilding for approximately eleven and a half months and my scores are still in the 630's. Man, if my scores went up like yours I'd definitely be happy......

Yes. They always pull TU for CLI requests (and secured graduations). No, they never mentioned the baddies because they are only showing on EQ.

About my scores skyrocketing like they did: I think the timing for me to start rebuilding was pretty perfect TBH. I screwed my credit up in 2007-2008 and stopped using credit altogether at that time. 7 years from then is now lol. So, all my baddies have been hitting their 7 year mark to fall off. Most of them I have gotten early exclusions on and had them deleted early. 2 more weeks I will call EQ and have the last 2 baddies deleted early (1 month early).

249 point increase (TU) in 6 months is probably not the norm when rebuilding. Yes, I am very grateful things worked out like they did. The myFICO community has been invaluable to me, and I am SO grateful for all the help and support I have received here!!! I love you guys (and gals ).

Well, I don't know if you seen my recent update or not, but I actually developed the courage to call up BOA and ask them to unsecure me early. They did!, but for some reason I wasn't able to convert the card to the Cash Rewards. I was actually informed that I would have to submit an application and if approved, I would be another account. It didn't hit me till after the conversation that I still have anual fee as well.

What do you think is the likely hood that will credit line increase me if I call back within the next week? Btw, they increased to from $300 to $500.
