Approved CapOne Venture and Costco Amex!

So fell for the big hype two weeks ago and appd for the VentureOne (didn't want MORE reason to spend more than I already do.. hehe) gave the dreaded 7-10 day wait. Called several lines to no avail and simply said the app was still pending through the system. Whatever that means. They did triple pull me though unfortunately bleh.

About a week later, they finally told me they need income verification so I faxed in the required forms. Called this morning to the automated app status and was told my application was APPROVED! FINALLY! Transferred over to a rep to ask about CL and came back as $10,000!

During this whole waiting game, I decided I might as well app for something else I've had my eye on. Costco AMEX. I already pay the membership fee so might as well. Approved instantly for $7,700 and will have it backdated to 2013 when I got added as AU to my DM's BCE.

Not a bad haul. I think this is ok for now. There aren't any other cards I REALLY want for now. And I mostly use my CSP/Freedom combo for most purchases.

UPDATE: Just got the approval email as well. Promo APR until Feb 2016 then 11.9% thereafter!

Congrats but you do know Costco will not be accepting AMEX anymore after March 2016.

Yes I applied a day or two before news broke on that. We will see what happens to the card post 2016 but for now I will enjoy having it and the 2nd highest limit I have. Lol

Kinda weird that theres an Amex/Costco branded card and Costco stops accepting Amex? Will they drop the card too? What WILL they accept because last time I was thereb uying stuff for my business I was pissed at the fact that they wouldn't accept my Visa/Mastercard.

Also what are the benefits of having the Amex Costco card?

Pretty much the fact that you can use it at Costco! Haha and at their gas stations as well as opposed to a debit card.

But also 3% cash back at gas stations including Costco gas stations, 2% at restaurants and travel purchases and 1% on everything else. Costco purchases falls under the 'everything else' category unfortunately.

Might as well get something back for the money I spend at Costco especially if I'm paying the membership fee. Will be interesting to see what happens once they stop accepting the COSTCO Amex at Costco..

Ah thank you guys for mentioning this. I was actually thinking about signing up for one. I was an AU on my wife's Amex card in 2008.. do you guys think this will have any positive impact on me getting approved for an amex?
