FINALLY, Barclays!

Decided to go ahead and try to get the Apple card so I can get a macbook to study in the comfort of my comfy couch (I know. 1st world problems eh?)

Asked for $4.1-$5k on the Apple store application (asked for extra, so my Util. won't be too crazy while I take advantage of the 18 month 0%.)

After the wheel spinning animation was up (why do they do this thing with the spinning wheel? Adds to the suspense I suppose? Maybe it is just me?), said they could not give me an instant decision. I figured it was the same old answer they always give me, but upon reading a little further, it said that I should call the 800 number and that they were open 7 days a week. I thought hmmm, this doesn't seem like all the other times I applied for Sallie Mae and decided, what the heck and gave them a ring. The nice lady on the other end said she needed to ask some security questions first (weird questions like "what street is directly to the south of your street? Who else lives with you?), so I obliged. Put me on hold for about 3 minutes and came back and said those sweet, sweet words we all love to hear!

"Congratulations! You are approved for $5,000."

I see a sweet Sallie Mae in my future (after I pay off this macbook, so I can close it and move the CL over to her.)

Nice limit! I kept hearing Apple Rewards was one of their easier cards to get. Congrats on getting your foot in the door.

Can I ask why your EQ score is so much lower than the other two? Just curious because the difference is so huge!

This was the main reason for going for this card. I have plenty of 0% cards I could have put it on, but I wanted to at least get my toes in the door (looks like I got my whole foot in though!)

Pretty proud of it myself. Came a LONG way in the last 6 months. Went from having almost 15 baddies and $0 available credit, to having $120,000 in available revolving credit and a car note (soon to be 2 car notes).

I think with a 780 TU score you could have any Barclay's card you wanted now... Granted now that you did the apple financing most likely they will want to see history then you can go for the SM in the future..

Big congrats. you know i have a gotten a upgrade offer on the same apple card today. as ive had mine 6 months. kinda strange. i called and said i want the upgrade offer you gave me in email. and the rep said exactly which card do you want. as if to say i can pick any barclays card. i almost said give me the ring. but just said. upgrade my apple because of the new 0 percent financing offer. you are right op. after a year. swith some of that limit to sallie. im waiting to get that ring at 8 percent apr.
