BCP Approved

Decided on the BCP for my Amex revolver. Approved for 9k which is a little bit of a let down after the CSP approval but I will take it. I am going to be patient and wait a couple of months for the CLI to $27k , or whatever they give me. Nice to have another card backdated to 87 as well. Thanks to all for the advice.

My new goal is to get to the point where a $9000 opening credit line is a let down.

And, huge congrats on that backdating goodness!

Thanks, CAPTOOL. You will get there! I am not complaining, I just wonder how CLs are determined. My story is that Amex knows I read MF and will ask for 3x soon anyway... I am sticking with that story.

CAPTOOL: Lol at the dartboard. I'll likely never get the card up to 9k, let alone whatever CLI I get. I didn't even check for the APR since I always PIF.

I requested 3X before my first statement and then my Amex reported as my highest limit since month 1. My DW just got her Amex BCP and will try the 3X before the statement close too, I hope she can get it. For some odd reason her CSP is not reporting to EX, so there is only one 5K card reporting for her instead of two, they gave her only 3.5K. She will ask for 10K because 10.5K doesn't look good

If you're not pleased with that limit, you may want to try asking for a CLI ask soon as you activate the card.

My BCP was my first Amex, and I just got a 3x CLI within 5 minutes of activating it. Others have had similar success lately, but as always YMMV.
