Today's App Spree and Auto Loan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scores today on MyFico: Eq: 721 TU: 724 Ex: 700

I have been planning for today for the past few months. I went this morning to TFCU in NY and applied for a 25k auto loan and an 8k visa

Because I have some unpaid tax liens from 2009 and 2012 and an unpaid judgement from 6 years ago TFCU said they would have to farm out the loan but would see about the visa.

AfterI got home I was pissed I wouldn't get the 1.45% new care TFCU rate so I applied online to Cap One Auto financing. In about 45 seconds I was approved for up to 40k with a range from 1.69 to 5.09% based on the amount borrowed and the length of the loan. For what I will ultimately borrow (25-30K) I am guaranteed a 1.99% rate with a 60 month term!!!!!!! I immediately called the CU and she said the other company would never be able to beat that so I had her withdraw that app but told her to continue with the visa (requested 8k....I have 5 credit cards 6k high and 1.5k low totalling 16,200 total credit.

Anyhow I researched cards I had wanted to add (I had 3 cap one, 1 discover and 1 B of A) and planned on going on an app apree the very second I had my car approval (I could care less if the dealer can beat 1.99% or not!!!!!!

I was immediately approved for 15 month 0% 3,500 with AMex everyday card!!! Yay!!!!! Then I applied for Chase Freedom and they said 7-10 days even after I called. Then I applied for the Discover Card and had to call them. I discussed my liens and then she asked me to wait for a moment. She came back on the line and I was approved for 10,500 at 0% for 14 months!!!!!!

Then I applied for Amex Blue Cash Everyday and it said pending. I called and was told they have to wait 5 days to process it, that they can't process 2 applications on the same day....Then I applied for Chase Slate...it said pending...I called up...they reviewed it and denied it....but said freedom was still pending.

Then I applied for City simplicity and was outright denied.

Then I applied for Cap one quicksilver visa and was immediately approved for 10,000 with 0% interest through december.

Then I appled for BofA pay down balance card. First it said pending...then it was denied when I later checked.

Then I appled for the Barclay's rewards mastercard (just to have another bank) and was immediately approved for 2,500. Then I applied for Barclay ring card and it said pending...I called and was denied due to judgement, liens and too many inquiries today.

Oh yeah...I also applied for a Macy's card somewhere in there and it is still pending.

So all in all, today I got up to a 40,000 auto loan at 1.99%, increased my credit limit by 26,500 (so far with amex and chase freedom still pending), now my CL is 16,700 + 26,500 = 43,200 with 2 cards still pending!!!!

Also, amex said I could request a CLI as soon as I have the card in hand.

Prior to today: Cap One MC- 4000, Cap One QS-MC- 6000, Cap One Venture- 3500, Discover-1700, BofA-1500.....added today: Discover IT-10,500, CapOne QS Visa-10,000 and Amex Everyday-3500.....again with Amex, Chase freedom and Macy's still pending.

I'm more thn likely buying a new 2015 Honda CRV EXL!!!! I'll also be doing a lot of gardening for the rest of the year!!!!!!!!!!!

I advise you to ice all your CRs prior to going to the dealership to avoid any unwanted HPs.

I wanted to see how my scores were affected by the hard pulls from the auto loan and app spree so I purchased the 3 score report just now and here are the results:

EQ: 721 today, 3 HP's....721 now

TU 724 Today, 5 Hp's...724 now

EX: 700 Today, 7 HP's...693 now.

I guess we'll wait and see how things get affected when the cards hit the accounts. I only have 255 balance on 1 card and 0 on the other 4.

Congrats! I really enjoyed reading your success. Did you call Chase on this number 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst - Recons)? If not, that's the number you need to call to get a instant decision or to get a recon if needed.

UPDATE!!!!

I'm going to continue to post updates because I always followed others who did the same and it always helped give me an idea of what to do or how to plan.

I phoned the reconsideration line for chase and although they were polite, they said they couldn't do anything for the slate due to tax liens present, They said however, that the freedom card was under special review and I would be contacted.

I also called the reconsideration line for Barclay's to have them reconsider the Ring mastercard that was denied yesterday ( I received 2,500 on their rewards mastercard yesterday)...the gentleman was extremely nice and I explained about the tax liens and my credit history...no lates EVER including student loans. He liked that and understood that I applied for a car loan and was simply trying to get different trade lines with different banks to better my credit. He told me he would reverse the denial and approve me for 2,500!!!!!!

Then I went to check the online Barclay's website to check if the ring card was there. I saw my 2,500 for the rewards card (24.99% yucchhhh!!!!) and I saw 5,000 for the ring card!!!!!!!!! (8%!!!!!)

I was incorrect in my previous updated scores.. EQ is correct at 721 after the spree from 721....TU started at 724 then went to 725....EX started at 700 and is now 693.

adding the 5000 to my spree yesterday = 26,500 + 5000 = 31,500 from yesterday..... freedom, amex and macy's still pending.

Total CL so far = 16,700+ 31,500= $48,200. (Further updates to follow when I have them!!!!)

Another update....

I phoned Macy's...DENIED lol (due to the tax liens)

I phoned the reconsideration # for City simplicity....they were very nice and are reviewing it again. I'll know by Tuesday the latest. (Still have to wait another 4 days for Amex and Freddom should be within the next 10 or so days.)

Congrats on all of your approvals!! That's amazing!! If you don't mind me asking how long does it take Capital one to get the Auto Loan draft to you? And when you use Capital One can you go to any dealer with the draft to buy a car? Thanks so much again for sharing your story it really helped me and congrats again.

Thank you! Cap One Auto doesn't issue drafts anymore from what I understand. What I understand is that once you go to the dealer, you make the best deal you can and once everything is set, you fill out a credit app with the dealer...just to match up with the Cap one auto app. I still have to call Cap One again to clarify this. It's my understanding that you have to fill out the credit app and I think they send it to cap one. I don't believe that the dealer running your credit is required. I may just freeze my credit so that the dealer can't run it....or I may decide to have them try to beat 1.99%...but I still haven't decided that.

I'm going to call cap one later to ask again about filling out the credit app at the dealer. I'm ALREADY 100% approved by cap one...I think it's just a matching thing. I'll post again when I know more.

Also..on the cap one auto finance website you can check to see if a dealer you want to work with is part of their network. So far every dealer I checked was.
