My credit journey is over CSP Approved!

It was one heck of a roller coaster ride building my credit from filing bk back in 05, Considering i wanted nothing to do with credit cards again. 3 years ago i decided it's time to rebuild. A few times iv'e had an amazing app spree. I wanted a Chase CSP badly, So i decided to wait a year and build a realationship using my chase freedom. Hoping that it would improve my odds, and finally i was Approved for 5.8k.

In 3 years, I now have the following amex bce 1.5k, chase freedom 2.2k, discover 1.5k > 6k, Citi dc 1k > 5k, Penfed platinum rewards 5k > 15k, Sallie mae 3.5k > 5.7k, Cap1 quicksilver 3.5k > 5k, Elan financial 7k, lowes 3k > 12 > 17k, Walmart 600 > 1200 > 2300 >3200 > 6k. It's great having a nice set of cards, and no longer being stuck with $300 and $700 limits.

Fico scores at this time EX 757, EQ 762, TU 751 utilization 3%

You've done great. I think you'll really get a lot out of the CSP. Their UR mall is really cool and I love the ability to get 3x more points by booking flights through them too.

I just wanted to say thank you everyone! And yes it's a great feeling having all the cards i want The venture was interesting but 3 pulls isn't worth it

Congrats!!! I love my CSP. Excellent for me because I travel so much internationally. I didn't have a relationship with Chase nor had the best fico scores (high 600s). My plus was probably my AAOA (12 yrs), longest account (20 years), util. 3% and inquiries (3 total across all 3) at the time. I cold apped, no prequal. Love how many airlines you can use the UR points for. The primary insurance coverage for car rentals is a plus and the card looks pretty darn cool too

Congratulations! Rebuilding is really hard but it can't start until you actually look in the mirror and say it is time. I can be very overwhelming and you just say--I give up--I will never be able to recover. I started out with 9 collections and other late payments. Virtually all of my credit cards had been closed either due to my closing them or the bank closing them. I just thought that no one would ever give me credit again and based on my use of it in the past, I would not dispute that decision. And then there were the errors on the reports. I have spent the last two years agreesively attacking this issue. Hundreds of hours on the phone with the three credit bureaus. Hundreds of legitmate disputes. You get one error corrected and then it can reappear. Good info gets deleted for no reason. It's a fight, but you can win it. You just have to have the patience of Job and make goals and monitor those goals. And you just have to consider every decision you make in light of how it impacts your credit.

I thought I had made as much progress as possible last June. I then stopped daily monitoring of my reports. That was a mistake. Months later I learned that an invalid tax lien had been filed against me. It look months to have the court vacate the order and have the item removed. So now I pull each a new credit report from all three agencies and address the changes immediately. Now it's an obsession for me, but it's incredibly empowering. You can control your credit. Don't let it control you.
