Amex App Status

This usually a good sign? I was approved for ED card and decided to try for 2 with one

When app was submitted it gave me a long number that ended in USD - I was able to copy that number but for some reason the page closed before I got to copy the phone number. Just wondering about you guys and gals experiences. Thanks!!

Happened to me with the BCE right after being approved for ED.. Was approved a couple days later, rep said it was because of the double app that it wasn't an instant approval.

2 for one is generally 1 charge and 1 credit card. Not sure it's ever successful with 2 revolvers. They like to verify information on second accounts, give them a call good chance on approval (if 1st card wasn't a low starting limit).

When you app for two in one week,assuming both are revolvers, Amex app system held one up for five days for security of what Amex refers fraud prevention. On the fifth day, system will release the app for finalization.

Were you asked to call a number? In that case system generates a Ref number starting with 2015.

Yes after I submitted it came back with information and a number to call. I was unable to get the number to call but I did get the long "reference" number. Although I don't think it was referred to as a reference number.

And it did start with 2015.

I applied and was instantly approved for a ED and a BCE within two weeks of each other.

Try calling this 1866 314 0237 to see if they need additional information to process your application number.

I did see a pull from Amex from yesterday, I assume for the ED application and approval, for those who asked

Just got off the phone with them and this is exactly what the rep told me. She went into telling me about identity theft and this is why they do it. She said it would be "decisioned" by the 24th. I didn't have to tell her the number she said she saw it. As of right now just have the one alert for the EXP pull from the ED app yesterday.

Will try and keep updated as I find out more.

On the fifth day, when Amex system will release your app for finalization, another HP could be performed by the processor. You may want to call them on the fifth day so the processor could simply release and excute the app. In most cases they approve you right on the phone. Just past week I was approved for three with one HP.

Also, does it ever take less than the 5 days? Like, for example, tomorrow or something I could see it approved/denied or whatever?

Depending upon the cases, some times, yes. But as far as multiple app threading goes, I am not sure if they can make an exception but in most cases system would not release the application until the fifth day. Prior to fifth day, they can only tell if anything is missing or is required. You may check the status of your application through this link;

I would suggest you call them on the fifth day in the afternoon time and they will make an exception to pull the app and rush approve it right away. I am certain you will be fine as far as your approval goes. It is just security measure that second app gets held up for manual pull so that multiple app can be intercepted for accountibility and quality assurance.

I can imagine how frustrating it can be. Most likely it will be approved, it is just held for security reasons. I am sure you will be glade to find out that it has been approved when you do call on the fiftth day. Best of luck and please do keep us updated!

During the 5 day wait, the second app is non-existent as far as decisioning so, it's neither a "positive/negative sign" until it's actually reviewed.

That being said, I did the same as you, Costco approved then 5 days(limbo) later Delta approved.

Just wanted to give an update for those who would like to know.

Called yesterday the 24th. The rep said he would expedite the processing, didn't say approval or denial. He said he would get his supervisor to get it processed within 24 to 48 hours. Well about 30 min after the call I checked the app status page and it was approved!!!!

Set it up online with my other account....showed no limit or anything. That was fine because he said I would have the card within 2 days. Well I checked this morning and it shows a limit. SHOCKINGLY $5000!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone!!! So excited.

OH and as a side note, MSD back to last year when I was added as an ACM to my mother in laws account YAY!!
